Charlton Athletic v Bolton Wanderers

2nd London away trip of the season to a happy hunting ground for Bolton. 5 unbeaten at the valley and won the last 3. Some memories of good performances and spectacular goals from various eras. Djorkaeff, Keiran Lee and last season Randall Williams. A steady but unspectacular start to the season with 4 points gained. Obvious problems at the moment with players getting up to speed, gelling, getting the starting 11 right. These need to be sorted soon and not the usual excuse we will be in a better place after the international break. Rant over. Team news. Aaron Morley culled from the squad yesterday on a season long loan to Wycombe. Lad has gone backwards last season and regular games hope he comes back a better player and with a contract to 2027 should still have a future at the club. One more to go then Bolton will have their 22 players to name in their squad after the window has shut. Out injured long term Mendes Gomes, Lolos, Forrester. Still no update or when Jones is back plus looks like Williams, Iredale and Nlundulu minutes are being managed after coming back from injury. Kick off 3pm. Possible starting 11. Baxter. Toal Santos Johnston. Dacres-cogley Sheehan Thomason Schon. Collins Charles McAtee.

I said before if we don't improve before Christmas Evatt has to go.

Was that worse than Wembley?
I believe it was.

If by chance.
It's all just a poor start to the season. When will we start catching up, by going on a winning run playing better than when the Dutch played total football.

Evatt accepts the blame for the defeat saying that was how he asked the players to play! Hopefully, they will ignore him from now on.

We get all the hype about the tweaks he's made to get us in the right positions and score more goals. Two goals were scored and three against in three league games. Look at the scores from other teams in the division and you might wonder where we will finish in the league this season.

He says that the players are still learning his system and are getting to know each other. Isn't that what happened in January? Signing players late in the window doesn't help. Only time will tell but other clubs bought early and are reaping the benefits. Perhaps we targeted the wrong players or is it just the way that Evatt insists we play?

I said yesterday that matters on the pitch started to go downhill when his assistant left to work for the FA. Well, it isn't getting better. However, did he sign another friend to replace him? Perhaps he should be more professional and try to get the best man for the job instead of putting cronyism first, second and third.

Here is the Last Word from the Bolton News, you can listen to his excuses but he doesn't seem too worried about the situation we are in. I do know we have a long way to go but we have hardly sent out the message that we are well and truly up for it this season.

Who is up and looking forward to Shrewsbury away in a cup on Tues night?
Will it be changes, along with half the B team in the 2nd half?
We are all feeling a bit down. Does anybody care what happens or what IE does in this one?

I don't think you can get it on Wanderers TV. If that is the case, I probably will not tune in. The small cup games are not particularly interesting, so I will wait and see how I feel about it tomorrow.

I'm not particularly worried about having one of each result after just 3 games.

There's a lot of teams will either step up later or fall off as we go.

I'd rather we got this out the way now than fall away when it matters at the end.

In Wanderers teams scoring actual goals news.

Looks like the Women are having a good time.

As an experiment.
If we swap the manager and coaches with the women for a month.
What do you think would happen, if they were given a free hand to do things whichever way they thought was best.
