Ins and Outs - last 6 days of the TW...

Mikel Arteta suggested he wanted a squad of 23 outfield players, but he admitted that is not going to happen in this window. However, we remain hopeful that something will happen in these last few days of the transfer window...

Mikel Merino
Left out of the Sociedad squad again, wants the move, agreed terms and suggestions are the clubs have reached an agreement. Seems this is a certainty.

Aaron Ramsdale out - Joan Garcia in
Southampton seem to have moved on after a loan bid didn't work, Ajax also in the same situation. Wolves remain the most likely, but they need to move on Jose Sa. Still reported interest from Nottingham Forest while Bournemouth have also been mentioned more recently.
When Ramsdale's future is sorted, Joan Garcia is reportedly set to join from Espanyol. He has allegedly agreed personal terms, but Arsenal will attempt to get him for below his clause fee so there could be a bit of negotiation to do. Dan Bentley remains an option, and that could move if Ramsdale ends up at Wolves.

Eddie Nketiah
Negotiations with Forest have reportedly come to nothing. Hopefully other clubs show interest quickly.

Reiss Nelson
With Jesus out, Nelson made an appearance off the bench yesterday. Links to other clubs have dried up, and given the fact Nelson is homegrown and club trained for CL purposes, it is possible Nelson will stay. However, anything is possible in the last week of a window.

Jakub Kiwior
Still links to a host of Italian clubs, and some less concrete to Crystal Palace. As with most deals, it seems as if clubs prefer a loan move with Arsenal hoping for a permanent sale. After being left out of the squad against Wolves, Kiwior replaced Jesus on the bench yesterday.

Ademola Lookman
The Atalanta Europa final hat-trick hero has been linked in the last few days. The Nigerian would count as home grown, and is seemingly gettable for around the same as Nketiah may leave for.

Raheem Sterling
Being shoved out of Chelsea, has worked with Arteta and has title experience. The links to Arsenal seem very superficial though.

Viktor Gyokeres
The Sporting striker has started the season on fire, a hat-trick on Friday night bringing his tally to 6 in 3. Could there be a late attempt by Arsenal to bring the Swede to the Emirates?

Victor Osimhen
With Lukaku in, Napoli must be getting a bit desperate to get rid of the Nigerian striker. A move to Chelsea seemingly is in doubt too. Could Arsenal make a late attempt to bring him in? Very doubtful, but not totally out of the question if Chelsea fail to move.

Nico Williams
Would be a bit of madness to get him in this late, the rumour hasn't gone away. However, Nico seems to have dismissed the possibility numerous times.

Things move quickly in the last few days of a window, so there could be surprises. Even without sales we are 3 short of Arteta's desired squad size.

It's not a criticism. It's more recent rumours that's all.

Adrian Clarke has said we should go for Johan Bakayoko. No recent rumours linking us to him though...

Wouldn't be against that, 21 year old, can play either wing, bit of a Doku type.

I see Charlie Patino has gone to Depor (the club his Galego father supports)
I thought he was one of the big stars of Arsenal's academy ?

He made it clear he wasn't hanging around. Arteta didn't fancy him and his loans were not that great.

£1M is small fee for a supposedly stand-out academy player

Didn't he impress last season at Swansea?

posted 3 weeks ago

Nah, the manager who took him there got sacked and the new man didn't fancy him.

The fee is small but there is a big sell on percentage.

I hope he does well at Depor.
But this assumption people have in Britain that Spanish footy at that level is much more technical & less physical than the Championship is not necessarily true imo
So he may encounter the same problems at Depor he had whilst on loan at Championship clubs
