Squad

5 days to go...

SQUAD (without expected departures):
Goalkeepers - 2 (1HG)
Raya, Neto
Defenders - 8 (2HG, 1CT)
White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Timber, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Kiwior
Midfield - 9 (4HG, 2CT)
Rice, Jorginho, Partey, Merino, Odegaard, Trossard, Martinelli, Saka, Sterling
Strikers - 2
Jesus, Havertz

18 players (12nonHG, 6HG, 3 CT)

Could stay, could go - 3 (2HG, 1CT)
Ramsdale, Kiwior, Nelson
21 players (12nonHG, 8HG, 4CT)

Squad rules:
PL - 25 players, maximum of 17 nonHG. Unlimited u21s (born on or after 1st January 2003)

CL - Maximum of 25 players on A-List, 4 spaces exclusively for Club Trained, 4 spaces exclusively for Association Trained.
Unlimited number of u21s on B-List - but players have to be at the club for 2 years.

Premier League we obviously have no issues in terms of quota numbers. Lots of room to bring in nonHG and/or HG, plus unlimited u21s.

Champions League, though, could see us 2 short - 1 from the CT allocation and 1 from the AT allocation - meaning if we sell who we want we could only name 23 players before signings. On top of that, academy 'keeper signings Setford and Nygaard would have to be on the A-list as nonHG players.
Keeping either Nelson or Nketiah would give us that 4th CT player, although it isn't necessary to fill the quota.

Ethan Nwaneri is Odegaard's cover.

Just really need a midfielder which should be Merino and a forward. Obviously will need a 2nd choice keeper if Ramsdale goes.

Personally think we need a replacement for anyone that goes AND a couple more.

That would be ideal, but Arteta alluded to this after the game that we ain't going to get there. So if we can get in an attacker after Eddie's departure would be something. Especially with Jesus's terribly injury record. I think Arteta keeps Nelson at this point.

Jesus could be out potentially for 8 weeks or so, that's what I have heard ! We could be in big trouble if he is out for that long and having no other player signed.

Knowing Eddie is close joining CP, I hope they have someone lined up.

and Darwin Nunez?

He's better than DCL and has potential so not sure how i feel about that one. Bit of a shock when i read we were linked to him. Won't happen though as firstly Liverpool won't sell to a direct rival and secondly, if they did, they'd want an absolute fortune which would mean we'd be better off going for Osmihen who i think is the better player.

Think Toney is a no brainer and if we could get him for 40-50m even at his age - would be the best and cheapest option.

Personal preference is Nico Williams who would provide cover on both wings and really push Martinelli. He's not a striker obviously but looks a real attacking force and is a good age.

Oh and if we sell Eddie, along with ESR and Vieira on loan (also possible Nelson) we are very very short in attack and arguably are weaker than last season.

WE MUST BUY AN ESTABLISHED ATTACKER BY FRIDAY

Toney is reported to been offered £50m in wages over 2 years from Saudi. Brentford would want a transfer fee on top. No way he is worth that!

Nico Williams is cheaper!
