Following two quite blant performances, how do you see United improving?
- Return of Hoijlund?
- Bench Rash?
- De Ligt instead of Maguire?
- Replace EtH?
I'm just curious how United should go around things. Missing a striker in the two opening fixtures seems a obvious reason for lack of goals, so do Rashfords form. Maguires lack of passing ability etc. Swaping 2/5 defenders (GK included) and we're still unfocused in defence.
Discuss.
What now? How do we become better?

Above posters probably been saying the same kind of stuff for 10yrs
We didn’t even give Moyes the players he wanted
LVG wasn’t given the time
The players let Jose down
Etc etc
The club is a shambles top to bottom and the rot seems soo deep that there’s no way to fix it that seems obvious.

I disagree.
There is a clear way to fix it and we’ve finally taken the first necessary step in over ten years to do so. Namely, starting from the top down and installing key people in important positions throughout the company that are specialists. Fergie was a one-off and one that probably couldn’t have lasted in the modern game as well as he did in the 90s and 00s. We’re in a world of specialists and finally United have realised this and put the right people in charge.
Next will be the players & coaches.
I, for one, am not expecting us to be at the top again for at least three more seasons. It took City and all of their acquisitions four years to win a league and 8 years to reach the levels that United were at previously. There is no reason (other than our brand advantage perhaps) to assume that it will take us less.
The last ten years were a complete waste; this is our start post Fergie.
Patience is required, we need to build a squad and have a better return on signings made to get to a point whereby we only need one or two key signings a season to maintain success. Until then, it will be up and down.

I don't agree that our football has been bland in the first two games. Not sparkling by any means, but we have seen improvements compared to recent seasons.
Rasmus - if he was fit we would have won both these games comfortably. Against Fulham we created good chances that were missed by Fernandes, Mount, and Garnacho. Rasmus would have scored at least one/two of these chances. Against Brighton the ball played in by Fernandes late on is the type of chance that is bread and butter to Rasmus. If we score then we win the game.
De Ligt' I would get him in the team now and play our best current back four of Mazouri, De Ligt, Martinez and Dalot and let the new guys settle in the team.
EtH. I like him. We have been down the route of changing managers and it hasn't worked. Besides, I don't think there is a better alternative around.
Rashford. Let me say first that I just don't like Rashford. I wouldn't bench him - i would sell him and try to bring in a top class left sided attacker. What exactly are his strengths?
He is quick - which is only effective against teams that play a high line. Not many of them around.
He is constantly offside.
Not a great passer of the ball - seems to be unaware of what is happening around him.
His control is suspect and a result he is easily closed down and dispossessed.
He is a tall guy who offers no threat from corners/set plays.
How often do you see him deliver dangerous passes/crosses into the box. Rarely.
I still think his attitude is suspect.
My, maybe harsh, opinion is that we play with 10 men when Rashford plays and as one of our more experienced players earning huge wages that is not good enough.

Will be interesting to see how INEOS/fanbase react if Liverpool win comfortably on Sunday. Doesn't seem to be any real progress from last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you watch our games? Our pressing is 1,000x better than last season and the team's compactness from back to front is vastly better, too. We haven't given up chance after chance either.
We've also created chances in the first two games - enough to have won the Fulham game more comfortably than the scoreline suggests and had it not been for a never-seen-before freak offside against Brighton we might well have bagged the points in a difficult away game. In the first half we were decently the better team despite their goal against the run of play.
There's definitely things to point to that look better than last season already. Once Rasmus & Shaw are back and the new players properly bedded in we'll know bit more about any progress obviously.

The Liverpool game won’t be a big victory for either team. Wouldn’t surprise if it was a dull draw. Can’t see anyone winning big
