They’re a bit of a laughing stock at the moment but surely there must be some method in the madness of buying anything that moves and binning off established Chelsea players (basically my whole Speedball 2 tactic for those who remember that classic Amiga game).
They’re trying a baseball style longer contract amortisation which supposedly helps with FFP - will that catch on and change how other clubs try and get around it? Are Chelsea’s owners trying to win trophies or just run the club purely for profit? Or could having an exciting team of the best up and coming players on long contracts end up being a genius move?
What if… Chelsea get it right?

That’s a big if.

Napoli should have sold Osimhen after their Scudetto win. He’s only scored 20+ goals in the league once and hasn’t proven he can be a consistent top level striker.

The question is. how are they going to trim their squad down from 42.
They don't have that long left to do it.

Currently our squad is 39 with Lukaku and sterling soon to leave. 12 of the remaining 37 are under 21s.

I think within those numbers as well a few are already on loan

the number of keepers they're signing is just completely insane and makes it difficult for me to give them the benefit of the doubt in any other area

What of ctc get it right?? 42 players in their squad....I wouldn't worry😂

So basically if you buy enough players, you will eventually manage to get the right squad and then just get rid of the rest? Not sure there are enough players for everyone to try that (or even afford to be able to do that, no matter how you wangle it)
This seems to be based on one good result against an indifferent Wolves side. I think Chelsea will have a mixture of good results and some poor ones - a bit like last year.

Didn't the manager say he's only working with a squad of 25 or something? God knows what the rest are up to.
In Palmer, Nkunku, Felix, Madueke, Neto, Fofana, Mudryk, there is some serious attacking potential. If they get it right they'll score a lot of goals, as we saw against Wolves.

Well theres not a whole lot left other than those. most our signigns are under 21. Its just really chalobah, kepa, lukaku and sterling now.
