Everyone knows my opinion of Levy/ENIC and how they operate.
But after reading the following, it's clear to me that Levy definitely has an ego and the fact that he's delivered one solitary league cup haunts him.
Had we won a couple of more league cups, or somehow the Champions League, I'm certain he would have sold Spurs by now.
To be honest I think he's being selfish now.
An unbelievable stadium, training facility and infrastructure is undeniable. I think that's an amazing legacy for him to leave behind.
But that's exactly what he should do, we need a new approach. More ruthless and aimed at winning.
For me near misses or not we have always fallen short at the final. Too many times for it to be a one off.
Levy is not a winner.
But that's no bad thing if he was to step aside now for the greater good.
Thank you for what you have done. But please the club need a new approach, a different approach at competing.
Sadly I think he will sell some minority stake to someone like Amanda Stavely who would have no qualms about being a silent partner.
So I don't expect much to change for Spurs for the next 5-10 years at least. We will be perennial bridesmaids and happy to make a good profit.

BEN JACOBS:
Ben Jacobs shared what he knows about Spurs and QSI.
“The reason I don’t think anything will develop between Qatar and Tottenham is because Levy is still only looking for minority investment. At this point he’s not willing to sell the entire club and that makes it a little bit harder for these big sovereign wealth funds and private investors in Qatar and Saudi to get a slice of the pie," Jacobs said.
“Levy still wants to stay and my understanding is with Khelaifi and Levy the point of contention, and I don’t mean this in an acrimonious way, is that it was very clear to QSI that Levy wanted to control the club and I think QSI wanted a bit more strategic football power. As we know from Jim Ratcliffe at Man United, you can come into a club as a minority investor but with a pathway to full control or sporting control from day one.

The next 2 games have little importance in terms of how far this squad can go.
Spurs won their first 3 under Nuno and he got sacked. Ange went unbeaten in 10. The season is long and anything can happen.
Nufc will be a tough away game. More important to me is to see if we can be more defensively compact while still offering a serious attacking threat. Having watched NUFCs weekend match their defence looks average and can be got at but their threat on the counter is top quality. We need to find that balance in such difficult away games.
NlLD we will also need to play it smart. Tough game. Arsenal seem happy defending and have attacking threats all over, so again for me it's about managing the game, not giving away easy chances and goals by being too open. Take it to them but not fall into their traps.
It will give a good indication of whether we have learned and progressed, but neither result, win lose or draw, will define our season or determine where we end come May.

Everything Is in the future for you isn’t it? What about right NOW????
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Ange's second season, so i am not expecting miracles but i do expect progress. These are 2 of the toughest fixtures in any calendar. Despite their poor season last year NUFC only lost 3 at home and scored 49 goals.
Zero points from Arsenal(h) and NUFC(a) last season and a thrashing last time out at St James. vs Arsenal they were 3-0 up and cruising inside 40 minutes until Raya handed us a chance, and we got close but really were the inferior team for most of it.
I want to see progress from this, 2 performances where we were comfortably outplayed. That might not mean we get any points, but as with any game and any cup, I want us to be competitive, play well, look like we have learned from past experiences, and play to win.
Last season Havertz scored almost unopposed from a corner and Hojbjerg scored an OG from a corner. They bullied the keeper and had a clear plan at set pieces.....that must not happen this time. We need to match their aggression in these moments to show we have learned and can defend these situations, get the first fecking contact at least! NUFC also scored from a corner unopposed.
Also, Saka had the freedom of our half to to 'send' Davies and score. Again, looking for us to be slightly less open and stopping those sorts of attacks at source, being far more canny in defending them (having Udogie should help this!). Isak also had a free run from the halfway line to score.
These are both big games and will be hyped as such.
In any big game between top teams they can go either way.
I will not be happy if we lose, regardless of how well we played. I will be deeply pisssed off if we play badly and lose, especially if we have not learned from last season, and that will be where i would have concerns. Not necessarily with the result but the manner of a defeat. If we lose out in a tightly fought contest , so be it. Not ideal, but progress and hopefully an indication we are addressing issues that troubled us last season.

And we’ve only played two games and already dropped points, so yeah, I’d rather focus on right now.

If spurs get turned over by three or four in the next two games then serious questions of the whole set up must be asked.
I’m expecting us to be competitive and Ange not out thought so easily. This is the premier league ffs. No top six side should be beaten by simply putting all the big blokes in the box for set pieces.
If Ange and levy want yet more patience from the fans, the team need to start showing it on the pitch.
I still am not sure about Ange. I don’t know if Celtic was his level. I’ll give him a pass on last season due to the injuries. But he has had three transfer windows now, told us he has final say on all business, so he must be happy with what he has.
Time to show that things have progressed over 12 months and there’s no better game than the north London derby and an away fixture spurs normally cower and crumble in.

which club this season has spent 300m on 3 players? If none, does that mean there are no clubs serious about winning trophies? that should help our chances of winning silverware if so

I agree. Our big issues from last season were set pieces, too open especially away and vs better teams and struggled vs low blocks.
The first 2 of those really are down to coaching, so Ange and his team need to show that we are improving in these areas through their work on the training pitch.
In terms of the low block I think we lacked attacking balance which we now have. It will take a bit of time to integrate Solanke and Odobert and some like BJ need to up their levels and consistency but overall this is a bit of a personnel issue not so much a coaching one.
If we continue to fail in the the first week areas then Anges Spurs career really will be on the line but I would expect that judgement to be made way down the line, not after 4 games

The next run of games are Newcastle away, Arsenal at home, Brentford at home, United away and Brighton away. It's quite simple for me, if things have changed for us this season compared to the end of last, then I expect more points on the board picked up than just against Brentford. Entirely possible that we'll lose in that run but if we've turned a corner then we shouldn't be losing most of them.
If this was in our first 10 games of last season I suspect we'd come out of it unbeaten.

Last season:
NUFC(a) 4-0 loss
Arsenal (h) 2-3 loss
Man Utd (a) 2-2 Draw
Brentford (h) 3-2 win
Brighton (a) 2-4 loss
4 points from 5 games. 15 goals conceded (3 per game) 9 scored. -6 GD.
its a pretty low bar to improve on but 3 tough away games, you'd take 3 points, and 2 home games, you'd take 4 points.
7 would be a decent return and some small improvement, especially if unbeaten and conceding far fewer goals.
9 or more would be great and would represent real improvement.

2 of those results came during our bad run at the end of the season when we lost 4 in a row. No result came in our 1st 10 games prior to our injury crisis either. So yeah, this supposedly better prepared Spurs team should be achieving more than 4 points out of those. More like double if we want to show we're serious top 4 contenders.
