DPL - EFL Cup R2 Rovers v Everton

I haven’t got time today to write at length and much will depend on the team which is put out. Everton haven’t won either of the 2 matches played yet so it would look very bad if they lost to a League 2 side. Therefore you’d expect a strong bench and a starting 11 fairly heavily infused with 1st teamers.

McCann has not really managed to demonstrate that he knows what his best player combination is, so perhaps it would not be possible to know whether whoever he picks is his strongest option.

I have not been much impressed with how Rovers have performed thus far and even getting a draw in this game seems highly unlikely whoever is in the team. Avoidance of a severe hammering would be a decent outcome for me, so 4-1 (Sharp/Ironside).

Another who knows! I expect us to lose, but will be crazy and say 2-2, and Rovers to win on penalties.
Ironside to score, or Molyneux if he does not start.

I think We were bottom of the league this time last year and nearly won it. Are we better now and are Everton worse? We'll see.

Everton putting out a strong side. Rovers defence looks interesting? Our subs look a stronger line up. Nice to see Ben Close involved

It was quite an improvement in effort compared with Saturday. They used the ball rather than simply possessed it and challenged for it when they lost it. It needed to be more intense because otherwise we would have been swept away. The Everton superiority was manifest in the second half, Dyche obviously learning from what went before.
