As much as it saddens me that Billy Davies has left Forest as he has prob been the best manager at the City Ground since the days of Brian Clough baring Frank Clark. But in all honesty how many times can you publicly criticise your board and get away with it, even if what you saying may prove to be right?
I like many others felt that if we had backed Billy in the past couple of transfer windows we would have gained promotion, but I guess that is in the past now and we have to move on.
The time is right for change and I honestly think that in Steve McClaren we have a good manager who will have the hunger and desire to prove all his critics wrong. I feel that clubs like Aston Villa who have turned their back on this man will end up regreting it and their loss may be our gain.
Thanks for the last 2 and a half season Billy and good luck where ever you end up.
Its now time to move on and get behind our new manager and cheer the Forest on, hopefully to the Premier League.
The Time Is Right.

Spot on. Davies wanted everything his own way, his signing or no signing, didn't bother with the youth and just wanted to buy success.
The fact that there's even people saying they're glad to see a manager go who has had only had good results with us says a lot. I think he did well but has hit his sell-by date, all the AP stuff was a smoke screen he put out himself

I think we were on our way down (not leagues but places) under Davies, plus the clash at the top meant that Doughty didn't want to fund the bloke who was constantly criticising him.
We were faced with a season without investment watching the same team stutter or cut your losses and hire someone you have faith in. I think it's a very bold move by Doughty and one which could come back to haunt him.
