just don't think the owners realise the powerful positive effect a marquee signing would have had at the club and it's fan base as opposed to the underwhelming feelings that are circulating after letting a golden opportunity to make a significant statement as well as weaken an openent and almost guarantee our own top 2 spot at the end of the season.
Sorry but something doesn't sit right here and our owners have done nothing to convince me they aren't rinsing the club before selling to Red Bull.... There silence and cheap skate replacements and ignoring genuine championship quality which was easily affordable without putting the club in any danger of financial breaches is very strange conduct by our supposed serious at getting promotion custodians who are meant to have the club's best interests at heart....doesnt feel like that to me, trust 'em as far as I can throw ' em.

There is no bigger comment on the decisions made at the club over recent years than the name next to the number 9.

Didn't expect much after Solomon.
Will we see any of the new guys Saturday?

We are playing russian roulette again. Twelve months after proving it doesn't work. We now rely on Rodon or
Struijk not getting injured. Byram and Firpo not getting injured. An inexperienced midfield adapting to the Championship immediately. Bam..argh...Bamford not
getting injured, reanimating his dead legs, and learning to score again, and Farke not doing a Farke again.
49ers are rolling the dice on quite a few outcomes here.
Will it pan out this time round? Or will we be deja vuing
next summer with less para payments and another
player exodus? Smashing

Razarani and Solomon been in training all week so confident they'll feature. Razarani might start left, unless DF plays it safe and plays Aaronson there with Piroe at 10, Gnonto right.

Hard to disagree with you Macca, a statement signing would have made the world of difference, but who in this division has made that kind of signing? There is not one side that makes me think, your squad is better than ours.
Quality-wise, we are looking more championshippy, but we look more rounded as a squad, with more options to change our play, and more goals across the squad. Yes, we miss our star players, but as one blogger said, Aaronson has now scored a quarter as many goals as Rutter, in just three games.
The decisive factor for me is not which players we have, but whether Farke can rotate them effectively, so around March, we are still looking strong.

A decent window and I know we all wanted that big player. But we have brought players in and even after selling over £140m of talent I seem to recall the club owes quite a lot of money for historical transfers - and of course the £20m+ for the lost court case.
Hamer would have been a decent shout at £13m but he’s obviously not worth more otherwise the Prem would have come knocking at £18m - it’s chicken feed to most Prem teams.
The other good thing in my opinion is that we kept a player, in Gnonto, who we all thought would be sold. That’s a huge plus in many eyes. Personally I wasn’t that bothered about him staying - until his second half performance last week.
Farke now has a squad that seems more rounded.
Bring on Hull.

If the 49ers plan is to profit from a sale to Red Bull then the way to do is to get promoted.
I don't know why this is so hard to understand.
Selling players does not add value to the club unless it's for an inflated fee.
Any excess cash from the sale of players sits in the company and would transfer with the sale of the company to Red Bull.
Unless the 49ers paid it out in dividends and incurred a huge dividend tax bill while massively devaluing the sale of the company to 49ers which would be taxed at a much lower rate. So that would just cost the 49ers a fortune.
I know everyone thinks they know so much more than all football club owners even without any experience running a business but please please explain to me how selling on the prize assets and not getting promoted benefits the 49ers with a sale to Red Bull.

Faith, since our owners took over they have spent about £60 million on new players and received about £170 million in player sales plus and this is what I haven't heard mentioned as part of the income is 2 years of parachute payments of nearly another £80 million so that is a total of £250 million the owners have seen come in on their watch.
I've just posted on Jonty's thread that the style of our
owners ownership model will always have their investors
financial interests as their number one priority which is their right and they are doing nothing illegal on that score which you can see for yourself has given them eye watering results even without getting promoted which as you correctly say would yield a far bigger sale and profit margin if and when they do hand over complete control to Red Bull.
So yes you would expect if that was their intention there would be evidence of serious quality player acquisitions which also would have been done in a timely manner so the squad is settled and has the best conditions and chances to achieve that ultimate goal of automatic promotion.
If you were deadly serious Faith about really going for it promotion wise you would have with the very very barest minimum of effort leapt at the chance to buy a quality player like Hamer and not haggle over £5 million for a player most people think is a championship game
changer and the nearest thing to us of getting a player
similar to Pablo or even Strachan.
If they for whatever reason which you think makes no sense are intending to cash in early then even with a reduced club sale fee of I don't know £300million I guess Red Bull would pay right now that along with what they already have financially profited from is a pretty healthy result for themselves and their investors and with that banked they can move onto some new project.
That's how it looks to me but if they have genuinely assessed the situation and in their minds buying bargain basement cheapskate options is their idea of the best strategy to achieving promotion then I'll be amazed but we will see what pans out and maybe they will surprise me and use some of the player sales to strengthen us in January but at the moment I've lost trust in them and would be delighted if they announced they were selling to Red Bull as I think they would be our best chance of growing into a top half established EPL club.
