Has anyone heard the voice of David Prowse before Jones was brought in? Whoever had the idea of bring Jones in deserved a big bonus.
I only really remember him in this, Coming To America and Field Of Dreams

Casting a black man to voice a white man's part. Is that the first real instance of wokeness in cinema?

Yeah the footage with Prowse's voice makes it sound so bad. There's also footage of the Catina bar with the barmans real voice, makes it sounds like they're in the Queen Vic.

I haven't seen the Catina bar footage. I'll have a look later.

Vader just wouldn't have been Vader without the voice. I saw Flash Gordon was on one of the ITV channels the other day - JEJ's voice bellowing out 'Gordon's alive' would have sounded great

A Big chunk of a lot of our childhood sadly leaves this realm but thankfully their brilliant body of work lives on.
RIP Sir James

Why would you want to confer a knighthood on him?
Strange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A very good afternoon to you Silver you really are a Victor Meldew ray of Caladonian sunshine...seriously pal did you seriously gage from my respectful post that I was bestowing a knighthood upon the great man's shoulders????
Well let me make it quite clear to you I was not and do not support these kind of narcissistic trinkets that unfortunately many still do and the term Sir I used was for me used as a mark of respect I like you would give to your elders for example as recognition to someone
deserving in your opinion of such respect not an effing brown nosing establishment soul selling title.
Hope that makes my position quite clear Silver me old mucker because the old saying it's a big club and you ain't in it is a badge of honour I am proud to wear.

Glad to hear it, mate! My thoughts entirely which makes it somewhat strange you even risked a misunderstanding, especially using capitalisation and no punctuation to express your supposed respect.
Further, the expression is an American import we can do without and used in the brown nose ways you detest over there.
That said, thanks for the Meldrew analogy - it has made my day and would have made my old man proud.

We're all lying if we say we actually enjoyed watching him on our screens in Star Wars, to be honest
