He’s had a pretty harrowing international week. He was vilified by the Dutch media in their first game and today against Germany he was subbed at half time after a poor first half.
Of all the signings we made this window he’s the one I rated the least as surely Bayern wouldn’t have sold if he was any good. He strikes me as a player who never fulfilled his potential and is now one of those signings that everyone hopes he can finally realise his potential but will just be another Marcus Rojo or Lindelof level United player. I hope I’m wrong as 5 years ago he looked quite good. Guehi would have been a better signing imo. Been a huge fan of his for months now.

I highly doubt with his cost and that he had other teams at least interested that we would loan him out, to be fair I am not the manager but think that when he is fit he will get games

Only saw highlights of the first game but a lot of play started with some good forward passes by De Ligt, including Zirkzee’s goal.

A shame about the injury set-back. But I would like to see a lot more optimism around him - there's plenty of time to get down on him if need be!!!
Hopefully once he recovers, builds up games and experience, he turns out to be a top class CB for us. Unless he shows unbelievable ability and looks truly world class as a young age, we will just develop him and not overplay him initially, which we need to be careful with, with Mainoo
