I could get abit of stick for this.

The increase in women and girls going to football, has diluted the atmosphere in the UK.

Dont get me wrong, its fair better for the game, and grassroots football in girls, has really exploded.

But am I less likely to sing, stood next to a fit bird, maybe.

Am i less likely to drop f bombs and C bombs, next to women and girls, most definitely.

It has vastly improved matchday behaviour and lets be honest apart from odd big game, or big rival, there isnt any trouble at all.

But no doubt it has affected the atmosphere

Keep it up Jack…you’ve always done well with fit birds!

Certainly the young lady a couple along from me in the North Stand sings and swears like a trooper...

And does anyone know if infrastructure spend is accounted for differently than player purchases? If so, it might mean that the two aren't as related as we think.

I do take your point, but thought wembley atmosphere was very poor

----------------------

didn't go to be fair, so will take your word for it

also City experience a lack of atmosphere, not sure this could be due to the size too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was awful. I imagine a few reasons.

1. Everyone at Elland rd is in the right places and tend to know who starts the songs etc. That’s a right mix up at a cup final. (Not wembleys fault)

2. Seats are spread out way too much.

3. Lack of corners and sides makes it harder to distinguish between sections of the fan base and harder for fans to bounce off each other.

4. The size of the place made it harder for songs to be heard across the full fan base and often they were finishing before all the fans had heard it start.

It’s just not designed to be intimidating. I don’t think you should be able to let people walk past your seat without having to stand up. Have to say though, west ham’s London stadium is the worst I have ever been to by a long long stretch. It’s all the problems above but x10.
