Liverpool v Forest - Match Thread

Can the international break work in our favour? Liverpool play Milan (A) on Tuesday night in the new format Champions League and could look to start full strength, or try to win it with a B team desperate to stake a place?

Nine of their last starting XI players just played 90 minutes. When you get my team selection you’ll see that the squad I’ve picked barely played 90 minutes between them over the break….minus the starred players…who played 90!

Wolves:

The Good: Chances! We continue to create the most chances in the EPL.

The Bad: Not converting the bloody chances!

The Ugly: Big T’s fitness. A fully fit Awoniyi and holding onto the lead will see us climb up that table.

Special Mention(s): Anderson…what a signing. Offload Vlach for 20m…meaning we effectively paid just 15m.

The Last Time we played Liverpool (H) L1-0!! Nunez with the goal…after the referee provided an assist…by forgetting the rules of the game.

Sels

Williams Omobamidele Murillo Toffolo

Yates Dominguez

Origi MGW CHO

Elanga

Proposed Line-up:

Sels

*Williams *Milenkovic Murillo Moreno

*Anderson Yates

Elanga MGW CHO

Awoniyi

Subs:

Miguel, Morato, Aina, Moreira, Dominguez, JWP, Silva, Sosa, Wood,

Injuries: Boly, Danilo, Sangare

Not selected: Omobamidele, Toffolo

League Form:

Liverpool are three from three. A new manager winning 4 from 4? That’s a new EPL record.

We are unbeaten in the league in 4….in fact…if you take all the last 13 games (inc. friendlies) we’ve lost twice. 3-2 to Chelsea and 1-0 to Elche.

Prediction:

Our last win at Anfield? I don’t think I was born! 🤣

2-1 to Forest then 😉

Final Words:

Let’s stop Slot slotting in a new record!

The last time we beat em' at Anfield properly was 15th February 1969, when we won 0-2 up there in League Division One.
I've discounted the 0-1 League Cup win via the John O'Hare penalty.

Well the last time we've beat em' is now September 14th 2024

Well done Forest!

Well done Reds - I was thinking we get done - never get result here - but wow oh wow...

First victory since 1969 in the League !!

Can remember the last time we won here in any competition.

I remember hearing we'd won at Anfield with Barry Lyons scoring...turns out it was 55 years ago!

So today was well overdue, and great revenge for last season at the WFCG. Just a pity we didn't make it 2-0.

Sorry to be picky, but the play was at Old Trafford.
