Shipbuilding company Harland and Wolff has confirmed the business is to be placed into administration for the second time in five years. Its main yard in Belfast, is best known for building the Titanic, with other operations at Appledore in England, and Arnish in Scotland.
The first-round bid deadline is due shortly. Spain’s state-owned shipbuilder Navantia is interested in the operation.
The company said the administration process would be confined to the holding company, Harland & Wolff Group Holdings plc, and the operational companies which run the yards are expected to continue trading.
However, shareholders will see the value of their investments in the business entirely wiped out.

Investing money in Spurs seems like a good idea.
A bit like people who invested money in the Titanic.

I did some consulting there a few years back when it was owned by the Fred Olsen group. The idea then was to switch from ships to exploration platforms. Clearly didn't work. Place has been in a long slow decline for decades.

It's a real shame, employed so many people, locals predominantly and had been there for years

So if it happens again it'll be yet another hat trick for Harland
