Don't wanna make this a rant but can't help feeling something is broken at Spurs but just not sure what exactly. We can all rant and rave about tactics, individual mistakes how much we spend and who we buy but cant help thinking there must be some kind of cultural theme runjing through the club.
Dont wanna lay all the blame with levy, Ange or the current players specifically but culturally something is wrong. You can't have this many managers, Players, DOF, Head scouts etc over the past few years and yet the outcome is always the same. No matter what the club says it does appear that the focus is not on winning. We have players and Mangers who have won the game's highest honors both pre and post joining Spurs yet as soon as they put on that Lilly white shirt it all goes wrong.... I have no clue why but the only consistent through this whole sorry period is ENIC.
Even during our best recent period under Poch, its feels like that was more to do with the stars aligning/ bit of luck (Kane, Dele, cheap great signings who were all motivated) than some kind of amazing planning from ownership. Yes Poch may have been the key behind it but yet we still didn't win anything.
The club feels like it's got ahead of itself..... We have the infrastructure suitable for world beaters except we haven't put in the effort on the pitch to justify it. I remember the way we played in the last year at the Lane and we were fantastic. The club, from top to bottom all felt like they were pulling in the same direction..... Trying to reach the top table ?Can't help wondering if the "glamour" of the stadium/ training ground etc has given the club, its players and managers a false sense of ego ?
It's that same mentality that Levy ENIC showed when he though we should be part of the ESL because of our stadium, balance sheet & the clubs value. Our sporting participation in such a competition was laughable.
I know there are different ways to achieve success... City & Chelsea bought it, Liverpool under Klopp earned it, United under Fergie did it the old-fashioned way and even Leicester did it as a underdog/ Organically...... I just don't see any of those elements under Enic's ownership..... We seem to try a bit of everything without ever committing to one properly.
I just feels like the club thinks of itself as big without wishing to put in the hard graft. It's the difference between a big business and a big sporting institution.
It just feels as though Spurs are the club that kicks the expectations of the fans down the road, fully in the knowledge there's no destination.
I feel like we are "Club" that doesn't know who it is. We want they sporting success but being a business just seems like the easier option.
I'm not angry, just frustrated and losing interest.
Am I wrong/ Thoughts ?
What is Broken At Spurs (If Anything)

This time last season we weren't broken and were in our best form for years with the same set of players. That to me shows it isn't necessarily down to deficiencies in the personnel, although obviously the attacking options aren't the best. I do think the coaching and tactical side of our game has deteriorated in areas under Ange. I mean it can't simply be that we haven't had the start we wanted due to Romero and BJ (our 2 most blamed players) underperforming. Ange is failing to get more out of this team at the moment.

I just think people were surprised at what we was doing. We did not look outstanding lets be fair Brentford could of went either way, sheff utd was lucky in the end. Liverpool well we all know about that one.
I do think there were excuses i think Chelsea ripped the confidence and heart out of us unfairly. With the red cards and injuries.

We were a bit lucky in that period but we also had a good level of confidence and a "never give up" winning mentality that we have not seen in this side since. The mentality has gone the other way if anything. I don't believe it's just down to teams working us out.

One of the things I feel is broken is the fan base.
I can understand that people are utterly frustrated and embarrassed about our trophy haul and that goes beyond ENICs tenure.
But this feeds into so many people's views and the impatience to let things play out just means that after a season of ending 5th, back into Europe, a poor start to the season and fans are talking about sacking Ange.
"Time is needed" is the last thing people want to hear as they have been here before BUT to keep going from manager to manager will see the continuation of us bobbing around in the minor places.
We have a plan, we have a process...lets see if it works, let's see if we win a cup or w. Let's see if we get UCL.
Some fans, and especially those whose contribution to the club is largely limited to social media, are caerying out a post mortem when the patient hasn't even died.

The whole club is broken, it is no longer a serious football club, the priority is no longer silverware and glory, the priority is business and increasing the value of shares.
Everything can be fixed with the removal of Levy & ENIC, I yearn for the day it happens.

Only 4 games played give till Xmas
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It not about 4 games..... Everyone understands there's a long way to go....... This is about a long term cultural problem..... ONE league cup in 23 years under this ownership is just bizarre.
I think Im right in saying Spurs are in the top 15 most valuable clubs in World football.... Im not suggesting we should be winning the league but something clearly aint right.
Spurs are no closer to winning anything now than we were 10 years ago.... We cant defend corners FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
These first four games tell us exactly how our season is going to.
we played a mid table team, a relegation candidate, an upper table team, and a title contender.
We got 4 points out of 12.
Conclusion...mid table at best.
Europa..no damned way.
Cup possibilities....maybe?....hope springs eternal in Spurs fans!
