Sheffield United 1 - 0 v Derby County

SHEFFIELD UNITED v DERBY COUNTY Championship #6

Saturday 21st September 2024, 1500 Bramall Lane, Sheffield

Derby come into this game on a bit of a buzz. Following the excellent win against Cardiff City (don't forget, it used to be pre-ordined that we lose against the bottom team), expectations have risen to 5/10 level for the tough fixture away at Bramall Lane.

Forget Ebou's miss - I can't but the poor lad was absolutely mortified and literally walked around the pitch with his head in his hands but still got a standing ovation from the faithful - including the Welsh fans - from all corners of the ground.

It's a funny one - I mean the whole shebang - playing pleasing football, winning games, players linking together and scoring. When's it going to end?

Sheffield United, believe it or not are level on points with us and look strong. There seems to be a belief that we will be fortunate to come away from the Steel City with note. Believe!

Team: Zetterström, Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin, Elder, Osborn, Goudmijn, Adams, Jackson, Yates, Mendez-Laing (C).

Subs: Vickers, Forsyth, Bradley, Collins, Phillips, Harness, Ward, Blackett-Taylor, Brown.

PS Anyone else doubt that there was even a foul which led to the award of the free-kick and hence goal? On the other hand Ozzie did not complain much.

Just watched the short sky highlights. Like a Zetterström video reel.
What potential. MoM, surely ?

Even though his cameo was very brief, I liked the look of that lad Harness.

Yes I thought so too. Not sure how he gets into the starting line-up but a good option to come on.

Pundits claim he is a winger but he looks more like a 10/8 to me.

Or a 1.25 in new money.

Bulut gets the bullet.

Warne must be one of the longest serving managers in the Championship

At a guess 5th or 6th maybe? Mark Robins would be top with Carrick possibly behind him.

I am surprised just how many foreign managers are in charge of a Championship club now (8)

He's 19th in all 4 leagues, 12th in EFL and 2nd in Championship! Bonkers.
