Back on the road again and this time we face the annoying seagulls. They pretty much put out a second string in their 3-2 win at home to Wolves, and like us, they remain undefeated in 90 minutes.
Liverpool:
The Good: Did anyone have a bad game?
The Bad: I can’t think of anything, even the pundits gave us our plaudits.
The Ugly: The arrogance of Slot…and scousers in general.
Special Mention(s): Milenkovic, Moreno, Yates, Elanga’s ball and CHO’s finish.
The Last Time we played Brighton (A) L1-0!! Omobamidele with the only (own) goal of the game.
Sels
Williams Omobamidele Murillo Toffolo
Yates Danilo Dominguez
Origi Wood MGW
Proposed Line-up:
Sels
Aina Milenkovic Murillo Moreno
JWP Yates
Anderson MGW Dominguez
Wood
Subs:
Miguel, Morato, Williams, Moreira, CHO, Elanga, Silva, Sosa, Awoniyi
Injuries: Boly, Danilo, Sangare
Not selected: Omobamidele, Toffolo
League Form:
Brighton - the story so far:
3-0 Win @ Everton (winning 2-0, before Young was sent off)
2-1 Win @ Home to Man United (a last minute winner)
1-1 Draw @ Arsenal (losing 1-0, before Rice was harshly sent off)
0-0 Draw @ Home to Ipswich (Ipswich’s second point of the season)
We’ve still only lost twice in 14 games! And we’ve won 4 away (league games in a row)…I’m not sure what the record is for Forest…but it can’t be that high surely?
Prediction:
If we can beat Liverpool we can beat anyone. A win puts us up to sixth…and possibly…2nd! 🤪
2-1 to Forest!!
Final Words:
Time to clip some wings!!

Brilliant equaliser, well worked.
Jota sets up Sosa, clinical break.

Mitoma really is a handful.

This is going to be a very long last 15 mins.
All subs used, no forward on, as such, and sitting back defending. Very dangerous tactic by Nuno.

Another shocking decision by Rob Jones, MGW give a second yellow and a red, after a nothing more than a robust challenge.
Remembering what happened last season when the BHA player wasn’t sent off, it seems a bad decision.
Nuno also gets a red, for protesting.
Really backs to the wall now.

Red, afraid you did, Rob Jones is in charge today.
Probably doesn’t bode well.

I’m sure the big man will have had something to say about that to the appropriate authorities.
One red card or a dodgy penalty to go against us today I think

There you go. (Although probably was worth a yellow)

Rob Jones indicates that MGW got the ball, then surprise surprise, Anthony Taylor sticks his oar in.

Two points dropped today. Coasting for 35 minutes then switched off. Nuno will have learned a bit more about his players.

Red, had someone offered 4 points from away games at Liverpool and Brighton, beforehand, I’d have snapped their hand off.
I look at today as a point gained, rather than two lost, purely because, last season if we went behind, it wasn’t very often we recovered.
Another plus, we currently look much better at defending set plays, especially corners.
Disappointing too not win today, but all in all, more pluses than minuses.
3 points against Fulham next week, and we’ll be in a very good position.

Sels is utterly rubbish - positioning is woeful, refuses to ever come and catch a ball and is glued to his line - should never be a Number 1

Calamity Jane Turner made him look better than he really is.
Ref got the sending off correct.
Still a very good point away.
