Bolton Wanderers v Reading

It's been a long week. The 4-0 loss to Huddersfield the worst performance under evatt where all the wheels came off. Confidence in the players looked an all time low and evatt looked a broken man destined to leave the club. Things obviously went on behind the scenes on Sunday the outcome evatt stays for now. One casualty first team coach Matt Craddock has left the club and the rumour Rico Santos has been replaced by George Thomason although that won't happen until after the arsenal match. Today we have reading who are in a crisis of their own and we've been there having had their takeover by rob Couhig collapse leaving their future uncertain. On the pitch reading are 12th, Bolton in the relegation zone and looking for their first goal at home and desperate for 3 points. Whatever has happened this week we need a response from the manager and players.Team news. Still the same 18 as last Saturday to pick from. Lolos, Mendes Gomes, Jones and Forrester are progressing well after their injuries, Osei-Tutu is 5 weeks away. I would expect a change or two. Sheehan, Adeboyejo, Johnston to return. Based on nothing possible line up. Baxter. Toal Santos Johnston. Dacres-cogley Sheehan Thomason Schon. Dempsey Adeboyejo Charles. Kick off 3pm for

That was nearly a goal for Reading. Toal to the rescue.

Was hoping to see a Bolton goal at my end. It was 5-2 last season as well.

Well that was much better.

1st half. More snap about the midfield. Clinical up top and looking dangerous down the flanks.

They scored out of nothing and started the pressure before the second penalty knocked them back.

2nd half under far too much pressure but ultimately a mix of some really good defending and some rather fortunate bad composure from both sides helped us.

Then the last 5 minutes of normal time and it's as if we switched back on again.

We do call Evatt out for his subs but the ones on 62 pretty much put the skids on their initial pressure and the ones later got us control of the game back.

Who'd have thought that a return to what we were good at would get a performance.

Matters have got better and Evatt has admitted that he got things wrong. That has to be a good start to recovering from our nightmare at thestart to the season.

All we need now is for the team carry on in the same fashion and improve with every game. The bad start has cost us but fortunately there is time to get amongst the top teams in the division.
