In all seriousness, I think it's a bigger risk for McClaren than it is for Forest.

He's a manager that's trying to re-build his reputation in his homeland. Look at the reaction from the Villa fans when they heard that Villa were considering McClaren for manager - absolute outrage (although most people would agree that Villa are much bigger than Forest so maybe should be setting their sights higher).

McClaren is not hot property to say the least, and I wonder if Forest is the club to repair his reputation? They've done absolutely nothing for years (other than get relegated to League One and struggle to get back up) and no manager has ever left the City Ground with anything other than ill feeling.

I'm not sure McClaren is going to fare any better than Platt, Megson, Kinnear, Calderwood, Hart etc etc etc.

For every job he's done OK in he's been sacked at another. Just before he got the England job Boro finished 14th in the Premiership and fluked a way to the Uefa Cup Final (they had a magical 10 minutes in games where they were 4-0 down). At that time I could not understand how he got the England job. In fact lets face it, the only reason he got it was Scolari turned us down and then the FA were under pressure to appoint an Englsihman.

He won the League in Holland, which I can't imagine to be that difficult, but flopped at Wolfsburg and was sacked.

Time will tell but I'm delighted with this appointment, I don't rate him at all and I can't see them going up.
