Ange meets the fans

I was listening to talk sport this morning and Jeff Stelling said that Ange had met some fans for a questions and answers session (I'm sure he said yesterday but could have miss-heard that bit)

Anyway he said one fan suggested to and asked Ange that any team that is successful in terms of trophies etc has to have a level of pragmatism on how they play games i.e. change adapt etc and all not just out attack etc.

Ange's reply was "not us mate".....I think that's equally admirable and worrying at the same time,

Not entirely sure if Jeff was on the wind up as I can find no ref to this anywhere. Did anyone else listen to this earlier or read elsewhere.

All I would say is, be thankful of the Brentford result and have hope but at the same time be prepared for the worst to follow. Just in case.

it has ever been thus!

I have no problem with Ange saying this stuff, he's clearly a guy who believes strongly in his football principles...... It will also put an end to his tedious " i always win something in my 2nd year nonsense

Ange's Spurs career will live or die by his tactics which he is clearly not prepared to compromise on.

I think we are certainly seeing a bit more subtle variation.

I have noted when Bentancu plays he has held a bit more of a deeper position a lot of the time. Also, and especially @ NUFC and the NLD, a little bit more caution in the way both FBs commit up field.

I think last season we saw a lot the high line, which we still have but almost everyone bar the CBs about 20-23 yards from the opposition goal when we attacked. We are a little bit less like this now I think.

We're currently sitting in 10th position with a mediocre record.
Aussieglue dodged a bullet in the Coventry match. Had we lost it, as we should have, he'd be in deep shiet.
We should have won the Leicester match.
And the Newcastle match.

If we lose the next two league matches (both away matches) he'll certainly be on the chopping block for Xmas.

And I'm looking forward to Thursday with some apprehension.....what team will he pick?
Does he think Europa competition is a candidate for his "I always win in my second year"?

He'd better faacking deliver mate!

Love Ange. Most of you will have read stuff about his old man, his upbringing, his philosophy, his emotion - even though his touchline demeanor doesn't show it. As blunt an Aussi as you'll get - refreshing!

His challenges, his reflections, his successes - all very emotional. It is not so much he has no plan B as any changes he makes are too subtle to be seen as a plan B. If it doesn't work he won't waver but instead question the personnel he has to execute his plan A.

He is great a picking up a team in the gutter. Great at instilling belief. He's probably the ideal man to bring teams up from the championship? He wants hard working, humble guys to mirror his ethos. I suspect the 'Billy big time' attitude of EPL first picks might be less malleable to his approach?

Give him a chance. What would changing managers really buy you?

Under this regime? Very very little. As actual history proves.

Have a day off from the misery mate.

Your post above is depressed about beating Coventry, doom and gloom about Leicester & NUFC results, ignores our last game which was a very good performance and contemplates what a shiiit situation we will be in if we lose the next couple games, how his job will be on the line and how we should all be bricking it about a home game vs Qarabag.

I hope you have someone looking out for you because you sound like you'll be watching tonight's game, ready to jump if it all goes wrong.
