Will we see a 16 year old in goal??

Our starting XI will be very interesting tonight, but the 'keeper choice could be the headline maker.
With David Raya a massive injury doubt, Neto cup-tied and Tommy Setford injured, who starts between the sticks is unclear.

Jack Porter is the 16 year old who has been 3rd choice since the international break. Getting a bench place against Atalanta and travelling with the squad to Spurs and City, it has been a great week for the lad. Could it really continue with a first team debut? He made his u21 debut this season and only has a handful of u18 games to his name. It would be a massive call to throw him in against a Bolton side with Dion Charles up front.

There are other options. Summer signing Lucas Nygaard has yet to get his Arsenal career going after breaking his thumb. He is the oldest of the options, but still just 18.
Brian Okonkwo has been the main u21 'keeper, starting 2 of the 4 and also playing against Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy. Some rate him as better than his brother Arthur who is doing very well at Wrexham. Brian was left on the bench for Mondays u21 game, with 17 year old Khari Ranson debuting at the level. Could this be a pointer to his inclusion tonight?
Colombian u20 international Alexei Rojas went on the US tour and has trained with the seniors a fair bit, and despite being highly rated has only one u21 appearance. The 18 year old was born in Basildon, but has chosen to represent the South American nation.

It could be a massive night for whoever gets the call if Raya doesn't play. Hopefully it will be a good night for them.

17 year olds Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis Skelly will be hoping to make their first starts for the club, while a number of other youngsters will also be dreaming of at least a bench place - 9 on offer. Ismeal Kabia, Josh Nichols, Ayden Heaven, Maldini Karucci, Salah-Eddine and Jimi Gower have all had first team involvement this season and will be looking to make their debuts.

Yes.

Nwaneri and MLS have to start really. Think he'll go with one of Saliba and Gabriel in defence too.

Okonkwo played against a league one team so I'd expect him to get the call tbh.

Apparently not according to Athletic.

Porter was not great tonight. Didn’t have much to do but looked shaky. Surely a club of Arsenal’s stature doesn’t need to field a rookie 16 year old.

Porter was excellent. Came and collected crosses, confident with the ball. Brilliant to see a 16 year old trusted and repaying that trust. Really cannot see any reason why anyone can be upset by it.
