poor start, when going down to 10 men after just seven minutes. Fair play, they stuck in there, and to come away with a 3-0 win was fantastic, given the circumstances. Yes they may have rode their luck at time, but any side going down to 10 so early is hardly going to have an easy ride, and Spurs picked off Quarabag fairly easy when they did go forward. Probably 11 v 11 could have scored six or seven.
Cups are definitely the way forward this season, and so far have overcome two hurdles last week at Coventry in the Carabou, when they could easily have lost, and last night similar after losing a player so early. Maybe, just maybe this is going to be Spurs year in the cups.
Positives from last night
Vicario, possibly his best game since he joined.
Archie Gray looks like he will be a real star going forward, made a couple of mistakes, but in general was very, very good.
Brennan Johnson, 3 goals in 3 games, answered his critics with two fingers.
Solanke, looks a real poacher, scored a similar goal to Saturday, but it is what Spurs have been crying out for, somebody to get on the end of rebounds in or around the penalty box. His hold up play was also excellent, and I think the early season criticism was very unwarranted. He will be a top player for Spurs.
Negatives
High line is not for the faint hearted, and surely has to be adapted for certain situations. Have to have a Plan B.
Still players getting caught in possession far too often in dangerous areas.
Lots of misplaced passes, which can be very annoying.
Silly individual errors, Draguson dwelling on the ball and getting caught. Davies the same. Bissouma giving away a needless penalty.
Haven`t got a clue how the match at Old Trafford is going to go. Suspect Spurs will get nothing, but anything from the game would be a bonus. Like to think it will at least be entertaining. We shall see.

Decent result last night, after another

Good to see you back on the board Sandy. We didn't always agree but the dogs abuse you got a few months back was bordering on bullying.
I don't get on here as much anymore, too much negativity and ill informed opinions but loving the journey we are on with Ange.

Agreed with everything you said about last night... enjoyed the game, impressed with the effort but a better side would have put us to the sword.
Agree with Devon that we should get something from Sunday as United are a mess, BUT ETH does have an annoying a habit of getting a result when he desperately needs one & Spurs do have a habit of not turning up at OT and throwing away points having played OK (Leicester, Arsenal and Newcastle already this season.
I'd take a draw now though I fear we might lose by the odd goal.

Cheers mate. We all have our disagreements, that goes with the territory of a discussion forum. It's when it spills over to personal abuse that I don't like. No place for that on here. Shows a serious lack of Intelligence.

In fairness to Radu, it was a rotten night, he must be a bit ring rusty and it was just one of those things. The bad thig was his decision to bring the guy down. Vic could have saved an effort but even at 1-0 11 vs 11, we would always be in the game due to our quality...just like vs Brentford.
As for United, for me it feels like a game we really should be getting something from. It's not like they're there for the taking but they just aint that good. I'll be very disappointed if we don't get at least a draw, we're better than them.

Devonshire I also think Spurs are better. But Spurs seem to be lacking in winning mentality when they visit any team, other than cannon fodder

Pretty fair assessment this Sandy. Can't disagree with any of it.
Positive is the result in trying circumstances. Negative is the ridiculous tactical set up when down to 10. Better sides than Qarabag would have absolutely annihilated that system with a man advantage.
The players performed heroically in difficult circumstances but Ange proved a bit static in his approach. A total unwillingness to adapt which ultimately will cost us further along in the competition.
Solanke was great I thought. Provides far more up top than just goals. Gray had some moments but he was targeted down that side before Kulu came on to shore things up.
Overall a good result with some worrying tactical approaches.

Worth pointing out that Hoddle did say that as good a defender as he is, he's not as comfortable playing as high as Spurs do, which is why he looks so much better for Romania. We play risky football with a high line so if you make one slight mistake without any pace to make up for it, you're screwed. That's why this is as much on Ange as it is Radu.

Fridge, agree the fact that Ange will not change the way few sets up will cost Spurs dearly over a season. Simply not sustainable to just have a Plan A. Yes it may be entertaining, but from a Spurs supporters perspective, it is also very edge of the seat stuff watching opposition teams exploit the high line time and time again.
