Archie Gray

I think this bloke should be starting in our midfield - Europa and league cup to begin with and probably the league next year.

Watching him and Bergvall - I’ve never been so sure about 2 youngsters making it at the top level as these two. Gray in particular though has the composure of a pro in his mid 20s with 150 appearances under his belt. Not phased in the slightest, already physically strong, tidy on the ball and gives me serious Bale vibes - different types of players but similar mindset I reckon.

I think we’re potentially wasting him at RB, yes he can play there but his true position is CM - let’s get him in there next Thursday and see how he does.

I really felt sorry for Bergvall last night. Wasn’t his fault to be lynched after 10 minutes. Especially on a night where I think he could have shown us exactly what he would offer in years to come.

Gray speaks for himself. Top talent but bergvall I think will be special.

Will be loads of opportunities and he already played a lot of minutes against Coventry and was arguably our best player.

Win the next 2 Euro games and we are more or less through - Ange could go very weak in the final 5 matches

Gray is obviously out of position but most important thing is for him to get game time, think he tired abit last night towards the end but a good effort
Bergvall likewise needs game time unfortuate about last night, can see him keeping Maddison on his toes for the next few years if he continues his form

Sympton of a shocking decision to leave Spence out the squad for facking forster. Is Gray honestly the only other back up RB we have?

given the way our fullbacks play i don't think it's really a waste of Gray, it's like giving him easy mode midfield minutes

Good point, terrible decision that

I think Gray looks a bit lightweight for central midfield at the moment. He could be bullied if we throw him in there too quickly. I thought he was tidy enough last night but I wouldn't say his performance was that special, as some on Twitter would have us believe. He was quite exposed and targeted until Kulu came on down that side.

I tend to get a bit OTT with our youngsters but from what I’ve seen of both Gray and Bergvall so far I reckon both will be special players

There was a one two last night where gray back heeled it back to kulu I think and it was done so silky ….looked simple but not many players can pull that off with the weight he did it with too

With VDV we have three genuine superstars in the making

It's an obviously terrible decision but we can change it up for the knockout stages IIRC. I wanna see Spence get minutes, there's a player there

Thought at times Gray held on to the ball a bit long, he almost likes to draw pressure and try and play out of it and sometimes it works. He needs to learn to keep it simple sometimes.

But he carries the ball so well. Seems quite press resistant and with that carrying ability he will be able to break lines in midfiled. Agree he probably needs more time before being trusted centrally. It's an area you simply cannot give the ball away cheaply.

Bergval looks neat and tidy but yet to really see anything truly special from him. In that Coventry game Maddison showed what that role needs. That round the corner pass to Deki to set up the Spence goal was brilliant and that's how we found space to score. Bergvall in that game was too safe and we really struggled to create anything until Mads and Deki came on
