The development tour for the year is over, and what a year it was for Wessel Nijman. The Dutchman won 7 of the 24 DT events to top the order of merit with a massive £25,125 winnings. Nijman already has a tour card that covered 2024 and 2025 and is already up to 65th in the main rankings, so he is well on his way to securing his place on tour a long stay. He had already secured his place at the World Championship as well. His top spot has won him a place in the Grand Slam next month.
Niko Springer came second with £15,425 winnings. Niko won 3 events and was runner-up in a further 3. Unlike Wessel, Niko has not currently got a Tour Card so his second place guarantees a tour card for him.
Irish youngster Keane Barry came third with £13,475. He won 3 events, but has held a tour card for a number of years now and is 48th on the Main Order of Merit. He has secured a World Championship place through the Development Tour though.
Nathan Rafferty finished 4th with £12,275, winning 2 events. Nathan is another who has a tour card for 2025 already.
Taking the second Tour Card on offer will be 5th placed Sebastian Bialecki. The Polish 20 year old secured his tour card for 2025 and 2026 with £9,700 winnings.
Gian van Veen came 6th, but has already established himself on the pro tour and in the top 32 of the OoM. His Tour Card is safe and he will also qualify for the Worlds either by staying in the top 32 or on the Pro Tour OoM.
In 7th was Danny Jansen, while Beau Greaves finished 8th. Beau, of course, has also been playing in the Women's Series but is likely to once again pass up the opportunity to play at the Worlds. She will be at the Grand Slam though. Danny took the first DT event with Beau also winning one.
The World Youth Championship rounds were also played Monday, with the final on 24th November prior to the Players Championship final.
Gian van Veen was dominant as he beat van Velzen, Rafferty and Slevin to book his place in the final. He has qualified for the Players Championship - could he do a double?
His opponent will be Jurjen van der Velde. The Dutchman beat Rietbergen in the 3rd round before coming up against the far more experienced Adam Gawlas and Keane Barry, but the 21 year old won through. Jurjen finished 9th in the DTOoM winning one event.
