Romero....Just So You All Know!

"Media Blown Away by 'Remarkable' International Performance From Tottenham Star.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has come in for vast praise after his performance in Argentina's emphatic 6-0 win over Bolivia on Tuesday evening - with outlets describing him as 'remarkable' in their win in Buenos Aires that sees them edge close to qualification for the 2026 tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Bolivia registered just one shot throughout the entire game, with Argentina boasting 15 in the process to head top of the CONMEBOL qualification table ahead of nearest competitors Colombia. Romero featuring throughout will have done him wonders in terms of his profile, as Argentina dominated proceedings with three goals either side of half time - and having started ahead of the likes of Lisandro Martinez and German Pezzella, he is Lionel Scaloni's most treasured centre-back - and he has earned vast praise for his continued excellence for the national team which will only delight fans back in the UK with Spurs aiming to push for a highly-coveted Champions League place."

Still want to sell him to Real Madrid, do you all?

Or Porro, or VDV or Vicario.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

VDV is so much better then Romero IMO. I know it's a contentious subject, which I don't want to argue about with anyone, but for me Romero is so overrated (when playing for us) it's unreal. Can't think of a more overrated defender we've had.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spot on. I thought it was only me that thinks he us vastly overrated.

Of course I want him to do well at Spurs. But am not seeing anything that makes him special. Very average. Bentancur is another that needs to stop ambling around and up his game.

Why Ted keeps pushing this narrative down our throats I’ve no idea

We all know he plays well for Argentina

And?!

He needs to stay switched on for his club

I had a quick look at Bolivia's results and they don't seem to travel well. They just mainly get a few wins at home because their opponents can't breathe.

Actually didn't realise they've recently moved to a new home with an even higher altitude than their old home.

I think Romero is a very good player. Not overated for me, just a quality defender, even
if a little too aggressive

as for him being sold to Madrid, if the money comes in he will be sold, no doubt about that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It depends if he signs a new deal first.

And also what price Levy outs on him.

I suspect RM may look elsewhere if Levy .makes it so difficult for them to do a deal. Saliba will also be 2 season left on his deal. TAA is running down his. I can see.them having 2 of these 3 new season.

Spurs seem to have the most fans who dont rate our own players.

Most fans overrate their players. Liverpool are all world class if you listen to the scousers. But ours love to slag our own off. Johnson, Deki, Bissouma, Son, Romero, Madders..all should be sold off according to some. Even the likes of Walker used to be roundly criticised. It's quite bizarre

And these same fans would expect a huge transfer fee from Real for a player who’s “nothing special”

We don't need him to be remarkable for Argentina, we need him to be remarkable for Spurs.

It would be like trying to convince England fans about Foden despite all the praise heaped on his City performances.

Bolivia the International equivalent of Barnet.

Ted as usual overhyping a very average player for Spurs.
