This, if true, is going to do nothing to hurt Trump. Most of his voters would do the same thing given the chance. If anything it will empower him, just like the conviction and assassination attempts have.

That's where you're wrong IMO. You are correct to observe that both candidates would have the same approach to the issues, but that doesn't mean everyone else understands this. It's been proven beyond doubt that people can be made to vote in certain ways, even against their own best interests with a smile on their face thinking they're taking back their country.

You underestimate the age we live in. Biden won by a whisker in 2020 and he's a white male, which makes a difference in that country. Even a small shift, a few points here and there, could prove the difference.

There are large American Arab communities in Michigan and other swing states, many of whom have family in Lebanon or Palestine whose lives are in peril or lost. Personally, I think it's unwise on their part to vote for Trump (as some say they intend to) to punish the current administration for its complicity in Israeli crimes. Trump has repeatedly said that he believes the USA should encourage Israel to go further in its aggression, and has a long history of anti-Muslim racism. A few thousand votes in an essentially tied state like Michigan could deliver the presidency to such a man. But I'm not sure it's for us to lecture Arab Americans that they should see the bigger picture, when tens of millions of European Americans have delivered the pro-Israel politics of both major parties, and the votes of tens of millions of MAGA supporters are the reason fascism has a great chance of prevailing.

Trump only wants wars to be fought because it means $ for US arms suppliers and it's simpler than diplomacy which he is incapable of.
