I'd rather have Bruno playing on one leg than Zirkzee in the team and Bruno isn't even playing that well for us currently.

If Zirkzee was throwing stones at the floor, he'd miss.

So didn’t notice that on the two occasions Bruno was sent off, we started controlling the game better, we even scored with ten men. Having Bruno in your team (in his present form) is like playing against a team of 12 players, one of them wearing your shirt and occupying all the pitch.

Zirkzee has scored 1 goal in 11 games and looks like an overweight lump playing in a pub league.

Bruno Fernandes is miles better than he will ever be. That's just a fact my friend. And Bruno isn't in the best form you're right. Zirkzee will never ever hit any kind of form in this league as he's just not good enough. A 1 in 4 strike rate in Serie A isn't the standard we should be recruiting. Ethan Wheatley has more in his locker than Zirkzee does.

Because I believe that we had a chance yesterday to try Zirkzee as number 10 with Hojlund as striker. But our manager, for some mysterious reason, preferred to try a fullback. And because I think that we have written off Zirkzee too quickly.

Has anyone written Zirkzee off? He’s been been pretty inconsistent and distinctly average on balance, and he was abominable last night; but he’s a young lad in a new league who has played a handful of games.

Very lacklustre start, but writing any player off before they’ve had 20 plus games is plain daft.

Anyone who thinks he won’t be leading us in chance creation, as he has done every season since he joined, by the end of the season is probably kidding themselves.

Rosso, you’re a clever poster with a good reading of the game. You can’t fail to see that even when he produces an assist or a goal, a player who gives the ball away more than 30 times in a single game (over 600 times last season) can’t have an overall positive influence on the game or on his other teammates. Not a single player thrived while playing next to Bruno in midfield. Actually, they all look exhausted, even a young and player like Mainoo. In the same sense that a player like Carrick, who didn’t have great statistics, in terms of goals and assists, had an overall positive influence on the game and on those played with him.

I’ve no doubt he will but the pros have not outweighed the cons consistently for quite a while with him.

Exactly my point. See my reply to Rosso above.

It’s the constant wrong decisions and misplacing easy passes that drives me mad.

The misplacing passes, which often (obviously not nearly always) happens because he’s trying something, of course, is enough to drive anyone crazy. I get that.

But we’ll have to agree to disagree on the cons outweighing the pros. He’s still our best creator, he’s one of our best strikers of the ball, he’s the best presser in the side bar Mount (which is going to be more and more important this season and going forward), he’s one of our hardest working players, and despite where his stationed, he’s often our most important midfield in terms of defensive output, even outside the final third.

Like Rangnick and Ole before him, I think ETH recognises him as our most important player, certainly offensively, I don’t think he’s going anywhere anytime soon. I think people also need to understand that we aren’t going to become a possession first side any time soon, or that will necessarily become the case under INEOS.

It isn’t just when he’s trying something though, he gets so many easy and obvious passes wrong.

That’s why I said obviously not nearly always.
