I just wanted to be the first to say it seeing as it feels like a competition to be the first to say it with some managers.

Maybe it is just me but I would at least wait until we have announced his appointment. The BBC said he has not even agreed to join United yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True... although Sporting's statement certainly makes it sound like he wants the move. I think it will happen.
I'm kind of in the camp that he could be the right guy for us but coming in at a horrible time which is a worry. Coming in during the summer would have been far far better for us and for him. Incredible how we didn't do this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For sure. ETH should have been sacked in the summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We gotta look to the future now I guess. Just still haven't fully got over this ridiculous decision by INEOS. It's cost us time, money and pts but I suppose they have eventually got the right conclusion.

Looking at the Europa League I still feel we are one of the strong favourites despite our slow start. We've still got 5 more group games and we've probably had our two toughest on paper already away in Porto and Istanbul. We should still qualify for the next phase quite easily.
Looking at the favourites it seems to be among the likes of Spurs, Lazio Olympiakos, Bilbao, Porto and ourselves.
Definitely think it's something we need to go all out for if Amorim can get us going. It's such a winnable competition this year with no CL drop outs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh how the mighty have fallen. That's far too modest a bar for his first incomplete season. Cup treble should be well within reach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a ridiculous statement. Our new manager who didn't get a pre season and probably won't get any money until the summer should be targeting all 3 cups? 😂
If we managed to win one this season it would be an unbelievable achievement.

I think it really would be a shocker if Amorim didn't come now. The timing is not ideal, and until the deal is sealed, he can't really say, yes I'm going there.
I reckon he will be watch the Chelsea game from the stands and then takeover - I fear the commentators in that game stating 'well if Amorim didn't know what he was letting himself in for, he does now'.......
In many ways, he has a bit of free reign for the rest of the season - I'm not really going to expect too much. If he can put in some type of playing style, and I accept it may need to be compromised while he assesses the players to see who he likes and doesn't, and slowly over the season we see general improvements. Deep down in a few months, I'm hoping to see, yep I can see what he's doing, the players are with him and generally it seems to be working, mixed in with no doubt the odd loss where it hasn't quite worked out.
I felt ETH was a good choice choice, but I just didn't feel that excited about him from the start.
I feel Amorim is also a good choice, but for whatever reason, I feel there is more of an 'X' factor with him - that could all mean nothing in the end, but I have more hope than with any other previous manager we have appointed

……
As you know, I was not a fan of INEOS, something just never sat right with me on them. They have a lot to do to win over the fans, that is for sure.
One thing I sort of agree with is trimming down our staff..However they may have gone too far. There were certainly a load of “hangers on” that should not be paid by the club.

Agreed.
900 full time staff apparently before they came. Over 300 more than any other PL club which I find incredible.

You won the FA Cup with a weaker squad and useless manager, you implied yourself there's no-one great opposition in the Europa League, and most top-half PL sides take the League Cup as a reserves tournament.
Ok, let's make some allowance for an unexpected hiccup, cup double and Conference League qualification should still be the minimum target for any new manager.

I saw some of it myself on the tour of the USA the year we bought Smalling and Jones and the Giggs story about his brothers Mrs came out.
We seemed to have a club ambassador for wiping your ar$e, there were that many of them.

Amorim out! Wrong time for him doomed to fail.
He's going to have a difficult time implementing his style. Let's hope he is flexible enough to adjust approximately
