Galatasaray away

Apparently we have left - Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Bentancur, Werner, Johnson, Kulusevski, Richy behind in old blighty (some of them injured).

Kids on the plane include Lankshear, Moore, Lucá Williams-Barnett, Callum Latif Olusesi, Dorrington and the wonderfully named Dante Cassanova.

Will be an amazing learning experience for all of them but we probably stand little chance of taking anything from this game. With a P3 W3 record so far, seems like we're prepared to let this one go, keeping the squad fresh for Ipswich at the weekend.

Anyone have any issues with this strategy. Obvs makes Ipswich(h) a must win but that is always the case anyway.

BTW - with Arsenal playing Chelsea and Villa at Liverpool, a win vs Ipswich makes it quite likely we'll go into the international break in the top 4 (3rd if Forest also lose to Newcastle) and above at least 2, potentially all of Villa Arsenal and Chelsea. That would be a great place to be b4 yet another boring international break !

Although it’s CL, it’s the exact same format for the Europa.

It essentially works like the NFL playoffs with the rankings.

There is only 1 KO round draw as well this time - which won’t be a real draw, it will just be UEFA setting out the paths.

For me, it still doesn’t make winning the group important for Spurs - Lazio are top at the moment, but if we’re in a semi final, is there any gulf in quality between Lazio, Man United, Porto, Bilbao, etc.

Top 8 is fine - it’s all difficult from the QF stage anyway

i know he is injured so it wouldnt matter here, but not having spence in the europa league squad is absolutely ridiculous

Indeed it is and should be rectified in Jan - not just Spence, Reguilon as well. It’s meant Udogie getting flogged to death.

Now we’re going to Istanbul and either giving Dorrington a start and playing Ben Davies at LB or we’re starting a 16 year old at LB in on e of the most hostile atmospheres in world football.

a wee update....

I took my ITK from the Evening Standard, but have now seen on Spurs Insta that the likes of Udogie, Deki & BJ have also travelled.

No harm in 20-30 minutes but would be great to keep the key men wrapped up.

Porro has gone as well.

Will be very interesting team news that’s for sure. If you make them travel to Turkey you may as well play them. I would have left virtually all of them at home.

I also think we’re asking for trouble if we start Davie and Dragusin tonight, if one of those gets injured then it will be Dorringyon starting against Ipswich or someone like Bentancur out of positikn

I think we have to keep the momentum after two good results. For now despite the injury issues we need to keep the form. Ipswich then internationals again so it is two games to survive and recoup.

As i keep saying if Bentancur is getting banned then run him into the ground and rest Biss.

Gala are a hard task. Icardi, Oshimen, sara is a very good talent in the middle was prob the best player in the championship. Batsuayi torreira and Ziyech who loves playing us. Their keeper is the one muslera weekness for me.

Davison Sanchez will be man of the match i can feel it.

Olusesi has been our bright spark this season in youth football deserves a chance tonight, in the heat of the atmosphere.

LWB he has looked good usually plays behind the forward but i would argue too early for him. Ange is a bit funny with youth players it is ryan mason that brings them in.

Nothing to do with today's game but

NEW: #thfc Board members and those at @KVCWesterlo have held constructive talks after the loan agreements for Luka Vuskovic and Alfie Devine pave the way for further collaboration between the two sides.

I forgot they have Davinson Sanchez. He'll play like Ledley King tonight !

Andy Scoulding the person who sorts the loans out for the youth team and works hand in hand with Simon Davies the head of our academy used to do some advisor work for Westerlo. It already is an unofficial partnership in all but name.

Dane Scarlett was going there on loan before Oxford United came calling and Alfie Devine got punted there after a loan move to saudi arabia fell through and Ange rejected him.
