Stats from before the game from James Marshment that we have only faced 24 shots on target all season and there were another 3 last night.
This is with an XG of 8.2.
We’ve conceded 9 goals. That means a 3rd of shots that Meslier faces fly past him into the net. What is he offering to the team? He doesn’t command his box, he’s not a great shot stopper, his distribution isn’t great. Only positive is he’s comfortable with the ball at his feet.
If you can’t win, just don’t lose but in games like last night, teams just need to get 3 shots off and one will go in. 2 years now we’ve seen the first shot on target result in a goal. This isn’t saying all the goals are his fault, but he just doesn’t save many that you think that was a great save.
- shot straight through him against Pompey
- weak penalty for Norwich
- Sunderland
- laying on the floor against Watford
Would we really be worse off with Darlow in?
Meslier - 9 goals conceded from 27 shots

Our away trips to London never seem to work out well.

As always the same people get the blame. If it’s not Bamford it’s Meslier. Last season it was Firpo too.
Look - this team isn’t perfect. The manager isn’t perfect. The whole of the division is exactly the same though. Top teams are dropping points and will continue to do so. We just have to keep working hard and hopefully the points will stack up enough for top two.
I’ve certainly not seen any team outplay us apart from Middlesbrough in the cup.

As I say, no Meslier's biggest fan, but last night, saved the two shots you'd expect a decent keeper to make beaten by the one shot that it would be dis ingenuine of us to blame of people to blame him for.
Wrong time to write this article surely, give him grief when he he's had a howler.

God, I'm virtually illiterate sometimes but you get my point.

Just looking at the highlights from last night and I think their goal should have been chalked off.
Millwall have a player yards offside blocking Meslier’s view of the ball completely.
Sheet happens I guess but I never noticed it after a few beers last night.

I agree with all comments that this goal wasn’t Meslier’s fault. Probably the wrong time for this article.
I posted this because it was another game with the first shot on target going in. The frustration of games like Millwall and Burnley where we are not on it attacking wise but if they manage to get a shot off, it goes in.
This is my frustration will Meslier - he so rarely bails us out anymore. When he’s only having to face 27 shots in 13 games, he’s got to be contributing more than he is.
He’s cost us at least 2 points, you could argue more with Norwich penalty and Pompey mistake. That’s too many from a keeper with nothing to do, and on the other side he’s not making any amazing saves that win us points.
Hopefully that changes and I’ll give him some credit if it does. It’s odd because he used to actually make some great saves

Nah Best. Your comments are a clear attempt to tar Meslier cos you just want to. You've got a downer on him, like others, so he's to blame for everything in the universe.
"He's to blame for 2 points". Come on. Even if he is where is the fairness in pointing at Meslier?
We aren't where we are because of Meslier.
Work out why we lost points we should have got this season and name them. There's few in the team that wouldn't be on the list.

3rd place 4pts behind 1st, and people still try and knock the confidence out of our players, we should be supporting them and letting them know we're behind them, mistakes are made by all, and the shots against, it could be asked how many of them were the fault of the defence, but, it seems some don't see those mistakes!..

Them's the breaks, Stoopo. I am more concerned about the other 94 minutes.
