🏟 Craven Cottage
The early season fixture squeeze is over and results have started to improve, but will that sustain? A run of fixtures that looks on paper ripe for points but is peppered with difficult games, any of which could prove costly to Gary O'Neil. Fulham's start to the season has been quietly impressive. Goal threats throughout the squad including a couple of familiar faces and new signings that are blending in well to Marco Silva's squad.
Wolves have scored the same number of goals as Fulham this season but have conceded more than twice as many. These stats keep appearing like beacons showing GON where the problem lies. Even the first clean sheet of the season last time out required a bit of help from our lovely friends over in Stockley Park.
No news on injuries yet as players return from international duty, but long term absentees are moving towards a return to the squad, Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic are back training but still a few weeks away from being available for selection.
So a tough one and an important game to get a point at least from. Feels like a 2-2 to me, just hope it doesn't end up the same as the last west London debacle.

I would not be unhappy to see RAN sold in January for £40 mill, as long as a decent replacement was obtained.
Thoughts ?

I would prefer to keep him as he has huge talent and is great to watch but I accept the difficulty and possibly luxury of fitting him to our system, we should not let him go cheaply

Feels to me like GON is determined to fit him into our side regardless of how it affects our shape. Gonna be a top player but wouldn't be opposed to cashing in for anything over 40m.
Obviously with the assumption we bring in a proper full back that fits how GON wants to play.

This. Problem is we just know that RAN leaves and Jeff brings in another defensive centre midfielder for £14m

We may well have a ready made replacement for RAN in Hugo Bueno who has been doing well on loan in the Dutch league and Champions League although he is injured at the moment

Well publicised that Wolves have conceded more goals than any team in the Premier League this season. But we have now scored 20 goals in 12 games. That’s a higher rate per game than any Wolves team since we returned to the top flight. And only Brentford outside the top six have scored more than us this season.

So Semedo leaves on a free at the end of the season

I think we signed Pedro Lima with that possibility in mind

There are 3 others whose contracts are up at the end of the season. Dawson, Sarabia and Lemina. The later has an option of a further 12 months. If Semedo isn't offered a new contract, then maybe Doherty (who has an extra year could cover until Lima gets up to speed.
With any luck, both Mosquera and the new lad Meupiyou will add to our CB situation. We will also have Toti and Santi. Depending on what format GON has in mind we could stick with those for a back 3. If he wants a back four then an additional CB would be useful

Id give Dawson another year, if he would take it.
Sarabia, although talented seems a bit hot and cold and weak, he can go if we can get something for him.
I would hope to keep Lemina, offer him another contract.
If we only keep one, then Lemina is the guy.
