Excellent performance tonight. Lisbon weren't great but I think that was more down to our play. I did see some good signs at the weekend that fluidity is coming back into our game. Obviously Odegaard being back makes a massive difference everyone in the attacking third seem to play better when he's in the team he is very much the conductor. Now is the time to put a run together.
Tonight was also interesting to get a closer look at their forward who everyone is looking at. I thought he was their best player without being much of a threat. Another we have been linked with was their cb Diomande and from what I've seen I'd steer clear, looks very rash and to be honest I'd be very unhappy if we buy another defender. Onto the weekend and a good opportunity to play a side who got a decent win yesterday but to me I think West Ham are still a very fragile side and Newcastle were awful if only they had played like that against us.
The engine is revving up

People can say what they like about injuries but the Odegaard one has cost us big time this season. Just look at the last 2 games.

Calling them Lisbon is a bit like calling Arsenal London.

He’s a big loss but City have been without De Bruyne and Rodri.
Their injuries have been worse than yours.

So what. That's why they've lost 5 in a row. You can't replace players like Odegaard, Rodri etc

As much as it did hurt us what was also poor was Arteta changing the formation to make up for it rather than trusting Ethan in that role.

I agree that's where he went wrong. Didn't have the bottle play a 17 year old. Instead played a senior player to keep them happy

I don't think it was about keeping them happy I think it was about protecting Nwaneri. He might have been overly cautious but I'm sure the intent was correct. We won't know whether he made the right call until the end of the season though.

It's my biggest issue with Arteta he's far too conservative. If your good enough your old enough just look at the likes of Yamal big pressure on him but his ability and mentality has allowed him to be a success at a young age and what I've seen from Nwaneri he's got both as well. Ability and that strong mentality he's good and he knows it. I think we've still got a chance in the league we'd have to be near perfect from here but I just think that period where we were struggling Arteta could live to regret not giving him a chance. I mean that Bournemouth game starting with a midfield of Partey, Rice and Merino was ridiculous.

Sporting offered nothing in the 1st half and it was quite comfortable for Arsenal.
The 2nd half was more competitive in which they scored quite early in it.
I was worried we would fack this up after such a great 1st half.
The penalty calmed my nerves again and we could and should have scored more than the 5 we got
