David Coote

BREAKING: Shamed ref David Coote is now at centre of shock betting probe

Must be a tip of the iceberg. This is not a drill. Disband the PGMOL and put to pasture any dinosaur linked with them.

If the PGMOL survives the
-Utterly pathetic and unexplainable decisions and officiating
-Scooby Doo implementation of VAR
-Unexplainable rejection of new offside technology everyone else has been using for 18 months now
-The current scandal
-Howard Webb allowing PGMOL refs to work in conflict of interest countries
-Not enough top refs, closed shop, boys club
-Admissions from refs of betraying football by lying and protecting their mates instead of being loyal servants to the game and the fans...

... among others then confidence will be lost in the Premier League as a competitive competition. The Prem must make plans to replace the PGMOL with am entirely new membership starting next season.

Coote must go now! Howard Webb and the rest must go in the summer.

Admittedly that series of messages appear to make him look guilty of fixing bets but I can also see the other side of the argument with it just being banter between (former) friends. We don't really know the context outside of those few messages, there could be tonnes of jokey messages similar to it which are more explicitly jokey/unserious in nature.

The fact is he's left himself wide open to these allegations by even potentially joking about something like that, in a recorded message too.

It's akin to me being down at the pub taking banter from the regulars who take the piiss when that I take backhanders coz I work for the council and I go along with the joke. If someone was to record that and then edit it out of context, I'd probably look guilty af despite me laughing along. With text it's even more difficult to determine context.

All that said, new could indeed be a total wrong'un who has jeopardised his integrity to financially benefit family and friends. If so I wouldn't use that to say it's endemic and that all refs are corrupt as that's just daft.

Rangers should be hammered for this.

Also, you celebrate a club you don't like being caught for cheating whilst winning most of the trophies over a decade. You celebrate a ref you don't like being caught out for match fixing. You fail to see the implications on the English game.

Essentially, we are finding out that English football is corrupt and everything you believed in was a lie. Do you really want to celebrate this?

Although I'm sure you'll still soak up the bullshiit that sky feed you each week.

Barry, if there was corruption the best thing would be to expose it and get rid of it, not hide it because you are afraid of ruining the league's reputation.

Who new David Coote would be such a lad.

On the sesh, sniffing gear, giving his mates winners at the bookies.

Next we will find out he's been shegging hunners of birds.

Are you sure that's what would actually happen?

Say for example, there was found to be abuse within the church or another organisation, would they be open and transparent about it or would they try and sweep it under the carpet to protect their reputation?

Highly amusing that all the glory hunting cants on here that can never shut up on any thread are all of a sudden ignoring what may become the biggest controversy to hit footy in decades. #theyknowthetruth

Isn't there already enough nails in that coffin?

As much as I'd like it to be I really don't think a coincidental but legitimate yellow in a championship game between Leeds and the sh!t is the confirmatory evidence of corruption that everyone is looking for.
