Considering Klopps trophy haul isn't anything special I see no reason Slot can't beat it. I mean, Houllier wasn't far off.

I think Klopp gets immense respect despite only winning one title as we managed to somehow get 97 and 93(?) points without winning the title because of city.

2 other CL finals too. Klopp has us competing with City domestically when tbh we had absolutely no right to be.

Its all context, what Klopp took over and on the budget vs what others around him had etc and the juggernaut in City and the finals he lost in europe tbf were vs sevilla and RM twice, two teams who mopped up those comps. Quite unlucky when you look back, but worked miracles i doubt many others can, Slot included.

Hopefully he can live off the work of Klopp for a while and the club are in a better position now thanks to that work to support him in pushing on too, even if the owners stick to the self sustaining model and put no money of their own into the club.

Klopp took over a far worse team/squad than Mourinho took over at Utd and Spurs and he couldnt win anything major with those could he, on a bigger budget than 30m net average a season im sure too.

Could it be compared to the Shankly - Paisley dynasty?

Paisley won far more as a manager, but I get the impression is that it is perhaps Shankly who's credited with rebuilding Liverpool and is remembered more fondly.

Way too early to be saying that but that's certainly how I see the Shankly leading into Paisley era.

Yeah, I know it's very premature. Anything can happen, so it's just a bit of fun for now.

That said, Slot's looked nothing but competent and capable so far, just like he had at Feyenoord. The way he's followed on thus far from Klopp is beyond what anyone expected.

Well, I suppose Cloggy maybe did, but he's a Feyenoord fan.
