About Last Night

Last night’s draw with Newcastle feels like two points dropped. Credit to them—they played some superb football and fully deserved their point. They pressed well, moved the ball quickly, and in Isak, had a striker who was cool and clinical when it mattered. In start contrast, Darwin Núñez had a frustrating night, wasting chances that could’ve swung the game our way. I really don't feel like he's got the quality to lead the line of a title chasing team, at 25 he's not exactly young either.

It’s clear the heavy week caught up with us. After massive games against Real Madrid and Man City, tired legs were everywhere, especially in midfield. Mac Allister and Gravenberch looked knackered, and it showed how much we’re missing fresh options there. The same goes for defence, where injuries have left us without any real rotation, and it’s starting to take its toll. I have said all season that while we've had a fantastic start, if anything is to let us down then it will be the abysmal summer transfer window, which could start taking it's toll now.

Kelleher’s done well standing in for Alisson, but last night reminded us why Ali is untouchable when fit. We need him back soon if we’re serious about keeping ahead in the title race.

Speaking of the title, it’s a reminder that while Arsenal seem to have a magic formula for keeping their squad fit, we’ve had rotten luck with injuries. Then there’s Chelsea with a squad so big they could probably field three teams. We’re doing everything we can to stay in it, but January reinforcements feel like a must if we’re going to keep up.

For now, it’s one game at a time, but nights like this will sting if we fall short in May.

Arsenal fans love acting the victim about injuries cos they had a ra*ist out for a few months and a couple of reserve players. Such weird behaviour.

Odegaard is a racist? Or reserve player?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This year is the first time there have been some injuries and he still miraculously came back after 7 league games out

personally i had thought, at the season start, that we had decent cover all over really.
alli/kelleher
trent/conor
robbo/kostas
VVD/quansah
ibou/gomez
endo/grav
harvey/macca
curtis/szboz

mo/chiesa
nunez/jota
gakpo/diaz

a rotational option for each position. add to that a 3rd gk gives you the 25 PL allowed squad. not inclusive of any under21 options.
So we cant add many more due to registration.
i do believe robbo is declining(was impressed by their LB last night. did very well vs salah for large portion of the game) so id be hopeful of a young home grown option soon.
Also id like a specialist, top level DM option. As good as Grav has been, he is learning the role and Endo isn't good enough
At season start i was hopeful Darwin would push on with the new coach giving him the guidance to find consistency, but i too am doubtful now. Do we need a better 9 to compliment Salah/Diaz and Gakpo?

Couple of things about the game "now im calm"

The quite frankly baffling idea to play Quansah at right back, he looked uncomfortable from the off and Gomez should've started there with JQ at CB.

Kellerher has to have a good look at himself, he should've done a damn site better with the second goal and the third
