Leeds Utd 2 Derby County 0

Kick off Saturday 12.30 pm. Live on Sky Sports & Talksport

Welcome to matchday 19, yet another early kick off and a chance to get last week's poor performance out of our system

Team News
Leeds
Byram injured, Firpo could also miss out with a toe injury. Wober could start. In better news Schmidt is finally back in training.
Derby
Ebou Adams is suspended, David Ozoh still out.

Derby are in poor form, losing their last 2 games and have just 5 points from their last 6 matches. They lie in 15th position.
We have only 12 points from our last 6 games as we continue our 2 steps forward, one step back season.
If we turn up we should win and whether comfortably or uncomfortably will predict a 2.1 win.

He was also given a chance to jump ship again however he decided to stay and fight for his place.

Sometimes some people will hate on a player no matter what, can have a good game but they say they didn't.

Aaronson is always going to be one of those players because some people can't get over the fact he didn't want to play in the championship and took a decent move when it was offered him.

Aaronson, not sure if its an anti American thing or if its because of last season, but whatever, last season he got the same crap as now so nobody can blame him for wanting out!..

But this season its good knowing that it don't matter what people here think, Farke has the last word and I think he's doing his bit in the system that Farke is playing!..

As always, players are trying to do as the trainer wants, and as always, people should try backing them to do the job they're being trusted to do, it makes their job a little easier and takes pressure away from the whole team!..

Radebe started his career as a goalkeeper, so that comment I saw earlier about Meslier playing forward might not be as bad as some think!..

We haven't played Oxford, Stoke Preston or Boro yet but I think taking into account the congested nature of the Christmas programme, tiredness, injuries and Leeds's usual nak for gifting sides unexpectedly some Christmas gifts, I expect the 2 points per game average we have atm to remain at the very least so a minimum of 8 points from those 4 sides and keeping my fingers crossed we might actually do a little better and have 49 points from 23 games.

I'm personally now savouring and appreciating that satisfactory feeling of winning games and I know I'm not alone in saying that because let's face it looking at Southampton and Ipswich this season and I know some on here think or hope Leeds will be different, but I think unless we bring in the next Alan Shearer in the summer I expect we will be competing in a similar fashion to those aforementioned sides.

So that winning feeling I think we almost take for granted so far this campaign and some fans even myself I admit still expect us to easily brush some opponents aside and play in a Bielsa swashbuckling style, but that winning feeling will be extremely difficult to replicate anywhere close to half the time we are likely to experience it this season and even with a superior coach to Farke who I question whether he will survive 10 games in the EPL is the reality of what we will experience next season.

That's why yesterday's good and sufficiently superior team performance is nothing to be sneezed at and even with the likelihood of being knocked off top spot again, we look a smarter outfit this season that has that little bit extra to clinch a top 2 spot.

Therefore the point old Macca is trying to make this morning is like I said yesterday about a relatively comfortable 3 points, is enjoy it, never get complacent about any Leeds victory, we're not perfect obviously and a lot of the time we make hard work of putting games to bed but I think the Derby manager's post match comments on the quality that Leeds possess and are able to completely dominate the bulk of sides in the Championship is a sure fire sign this season how much better as a team we are ironically with all our so called superstars from last season now plying their trade elsewhere.

Morning Earl and all and a belated thanks for the MDTπŸ‘. Really pleased with the win, clean sheet and yes, a Rodon header (his earlier bullet header should also have gone in😁). Delighted also for Max Wober and I hope that goal draws him nearer to the club. We shall see.

Just another point re: Aaronson. For me it’s got absolutely nothing to do with his nationality. I couldn’t care less if he was from Mars. When he first joined us, he was far too lightweight and was knocked over by the opposition sneezing at him. Then he had the move away which looked like he thought he was too good to play in the Championship (but I don’t know if that’s the real reason he left us). However, that’s why I thought of him as a waste of space and would have been happy never to see him in a Leeds shirt again. However, he’s come back and done quite well so fair play to him. He’s still got a lot of improving to do - and if he does that, there may well be a future for him at Leeds. We’ll see.

Thanks for the opposition match thread chaps - always nice to see we’re shouting into an echo chamber and there is a demand for these discussion match oriented threads πŸ‘

Oh, and I’ll not mention the game but wouldn’t it be great if the next meeting will be in the top division?

Have to agree. Not just on these boards but in the ground. Great to have opposition fans making some noise (despite the result) and giving us stick back.
