LEEDS UNITED v DERBY COUNTY Championship #19 |
Saturday 7th December 2024, 12.30pm Elland Road, Leeds |
Saturday match, 12.30pm kick off, what could go wrong?
Quite a lot actually. I think we approach this fixture with more than a frisson of trepidation after gutting performances which have really dealt morale busting blows to the team.
Again, woulda, shoulda, coulda - where is the win going to come from? Wednesday could not believe that they had won - we certainly looked the team most likely to prevail at half time. The visit to Elland Road is compounded by the suspension Ebou and the longish term injury of Ozoh - does this happen to other clubs?
We still need that win to spark a run of picking up 3 points just to give us some clearance from the bottom of the league. As it is we are looking nervously over one shoulder.
Leeds are nicely poised for the automatics. They would have gone top except for a blip 1-0 defeat to Blackburn. They won't let that happen again. Leeds fans are very confident on their match thread.
Obviously lots of 'history' between the two clubs but somehow it doesn't seem relevant anymore and we cannot live on the Play-off semi-final for ever.
