Ange Safe No Pressure

I don't know if i'm happy with this as i honestly don't think he's good enough to turn it around , i hope i'm wrong.

Ange Postecoglou is not under pressure at Tottenham despite the recent poor run of results.

Spurs have suffered back-to-back defeats following the 4-3 home loss to Chelsea on Sunday, and have won only one out of their last five Premier League games since thrashing Aston Villa 4-1 before the last international break.

However, head coach Postecoglou, who retains a good working relationship with Spurs chair Daniel Levy, will get time in a hectic Christmas period to turn around his side's fortunes.

I think a section of the fans just won't forgive Ange for how he reacted to the noise around the City game at the end of last season. Some are swallowed up by the narrative that every point we drop is because we play a high line. Others just don't like him.

Bottom line, though, whether it's because we have a thin squad and tons of injuries or brainless mistakes from inexperienced/not quite good enough players, clearly results have to improve. It does start to feel like rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic tho.

Any new manager would deserve at least a season's grace of underperforming or wtf are we hoping to achieve. It's funny that a lot of fans advocating to sack Ange want Poch back, or at least compare him favourably. Yet he was sacked for going through a long spell of awful declining form, with a better team. That's not to say Ange is perfect or it's all Levy's fault. But what's clear is we need to start doing things differently than we have been if we want things to change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Poch had achieved things with us that Ange can only dream of. People forget that Poch was sacked the season after getting us to a CL final and top 4 ahead of Arsenal, despite becoming the only side in premier league history to go through a summer window without buying a player. 3 months later Levy faaacked him off for Jose and then fired Jose 6 days before a cup final.

Ange has achieved nothing at Spurs and yet some fans back him more than they did managers who did achieve for us, why? Is it because we play all out attack? Because he is an Aussie?

I don’t get how this guy has a hold over some, what are they seeing that I am not. He is a mediocre manager with a mediocre record. He could be good enough to win a cup and finish 8th or finish 5th but only play 3 cup games all season.

He just isn’t who some want him to be
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't speak for others, but the reason I have not given up on Ange yet is because the manager merry go round has got us absolutely nowhere. This can't be disputed.

Therefore, how about standing firm with the manager for once during a difficult time whilst he tries to rebuild a squad that is clearly not yet equipped to suffer injuries and suspensions to key players and see where it takes us?

If you listen to Ange he not only talks about the here and now he also talks about the long term for the club. That is extremely unselfish of him - most managers would just be concerned with their own survival.

We have a crop of exciting young players who are going to play an important role for the club going forward (Moore/Begvall/Gray/Udogie/Sarr/Lankshear) and some manager will benefit from them in the future (maybe Ange if he can turn things around)

As I've said repeatedly, Ange should at least be given the full season (and at least one more transfer window) before he is condemned.

I've given myself a day to reflect and to let things sink in. I Ange should be given the next four games or so and if nothing has changed, he has to go. The more I think about the naivety of yesterday's game, it's quite frankly alarming. He either changes the way we set up and play, or faces the consequences being the chop. It's a shame as I really like Ange but I think it's become clear that he's well out of his depth. He can't even offer a decent analysis after the match, talking about how we played well.

And don't even get me started on the fans abusing our manager and players. Porro the latest to shut down social media. It's toxic af right now and the fans being spoiled petulant priiicks actively creating a bad atmosphere need to take a long hard look at themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah but did you see Porro’s tweet that pre-empted that? Bogging himself up about being involved in so many goals since joining. Utterly taking the pisss posting that after his performance yesterday.

Shouldn’t be getting abuse though but he clearly provoked it

So it's not justifiable unless you want to justify it

Getting top four and losing finals is not achieving anything.

WINNING TROPHIES is achieving something.

Our depleted squad played well against Chelsea yesterday.
I'm on the fence about kicking Aussieglue out of town.
If only he could produce a plan B with defensive options, I'd say keep him.
He's had more than a fair share of injuries. I hate to think what will happen if a couple more get injured, Kulusevski, Porro, Son, Dragusin....... up shiiiit creek.
And I cannot think of a manager who would risk coming here ATM
So its Mason or .....
May as well keep the outback Aussie for a few more games and what how low the club sinks.
