Thoughts from today

Another early kick off means I have to record match and avoid scores.

Was thinking about this then, do I want to know the score so I can save 2 hours of my life if a crap game or do I want to know the result and then you lose all the excitement event of the match?

So, I avoid the scores, get home and fast froward through al the hype, another match with no real history made out to be a big sort of grudge match.....

Couple of changes, but should be enough, but its an away game.

Bogle looks a bit all over the place, Piroe anonymous, James dangerous, but no cutting edge and a careless loss of ball result on Struijk being woefully exposed in their half and Bogle never going to get back in time, one beautiful ball and we're 1-0 down.

Familiar territory from last 5 years and teh other familiar part is that we're probably going to huff and puff and blow no house down.

No shots on target, Rothwell and Tanaka not setting world alight, Gnonto keeps the hem on their toes but James looks the real Dangerman.

Aaronsons' doing his usual running around with not much end product and Price as I said earlier just anonymous. He's a clinical finisher but plays too deep at times and not getting the service.

I lost track of teh number of corners and free kicks that yielded absolutely nothing and indeed sometimes ball was going back to Meslier.

We bring on 15 attackers and to be honest it smacks of complete lack of ideas of what to do.

Time ticking away, Bamford comes close with a flick but its feeling like its not going to be our day, especially after James hits the bar (must have some sort of record of active players with most hits of woodwork).....even with 3 strikers on we cant win a ball at a corner and no-one in box for cut backs, until Solomon retains possession where others would have taken pointless shots that would get blocked, runs across the area and picks out James who supplies th ball in for Joseph to cut in front of his man and we get some luck with an own goal to salvage a point.

Preston had had a couple of chances to extend lead, so we really got out of jail here. Personally I din't find it that enjoyable a match to watch and thought the referee was poor.....letting Whiteman off a second yellow and booking Farke.

I'm hoping Farke does get us up, but once up I think we need a real rethink as I think he's really tactically limited and not sure that even with investment, he'd be able to hold his own up a division.

Criminal refereeing to not give Whiteman a second yellow. Their players were kicking chunks out of our lot with very little redress.

I lost count of the number of sly, nasty, cynical fouls that Osmajic did -- he's a total thug and went unpunished until the ref spotted one and gave him a yellow.

Bitter? Yes. Should we have had more protection from the ref? Definitely!

All you super strikers on here, tell me, if you'd had hit the ball where no doubt Bamford will have wanted to, would you have scored?..

Bamford will have seen the keeper was where he thought Bamford was going to try it, so tried something different, if he'd had hit it the way you's would the keeper would have stopped it!..

But we all know, Bamford missed a trick, but would have got the same crap if the keeper had stopped it!..

Aaronson is the weak link in this team.
He's definitely not good enough to start every game.
As for Bamford I'd give him a run of games.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but some on here are unable or unwilling to express theirs without reverting to expletives and insults. Sad really, especially if it’s genuine.

Back to the game yesterday, yes I also hope DF gets us up and if he does, for me he gets the gig in the EPL until he proves otherwise that he’s not capable of keeping us there.

I would really like Farke to drop Aeronson for the Oxford game I mean his miss yesterday was truly shocking but sadly par for the course with BA and his complete lack of composure in front of goal has been a reoccurring theme throughout his career with Leeds and although I give him credit for his energy and he has had some very good games apart from his woeful finishing I just would prefer to see him along with Piroe and Solomon as impact subs more regularly allowing Ramazani Gnonto James and Joseph as our forward 4 with Rothwell and Tanaka in our engine room in the middle....Also I'm thinking Amps back in defence with Struiyk, Rodon and one other, take your pick,is a good option too.

Aaronson has lots of energy, breaks up opposition moves and gets possession back and gets into good positions.

The goals may (or may not) come, but regardless I think he's an important part of our team right now and if we take him out, the team as a whole is diminished.

Bamford - if he was started for a run of games, the run of games would probably be short as he will break again. The other problem is that there's nobody to fill the number 9 role effectively. MJ doesn't look sharp enough (or may just be trying too hard). Piroe is in the wrong team to score like he did at Swansea -- our setup just doesn't suit him.

Solution? Get a fast, sharp, healthy "replacement Bamford".

I think MJ would be fine. He's done okay whenever he has played. Hopefully the goals will come. Two goals this week have come from him attacking the near post. Something Piroe doesn't do.

My take. I’ve always thought bamford’s movement, hold up play and pressing made the team work better, but that his finishing was a liability. I thought he made a difference when he came on yesterday. His movement for that chance to get ahead of the defender was great. As Germany says had he not tried to flick it he was at risk of the keeper blocking it. The cross came at pace so it was an instant reaction. But after all that, it was still an open goal from 2 yards out. If he’d injured himself in the process it would have summed his career up in one move.

As said, he made more contact with it than Joseph did for the equaliser.
