But it’s a bit premature and reactionary to be calling for Arteta’s head. He’s almost built a title winning squad, it’s taken him some time to get there and that’s no surprise given what he was left with.
Let’s wait until he actually has a first 11 that are expected to be title challengers and hold him accountable then. Thats when he should be judged if he has what it takes.
He’s already built a title winning defence and a solid midfield in Rice and Odegaard, we just need that world class addition the midfield 8.
In Saka we’ve got one of the best RW but that’s were the front line attacking quality stops.
In reality we need to improve the CF, LW and CM (ironically the same positions we have been asking for two years)
Just 3 players short! I can see us addressing one of those positions in January given our net spend in the summer wasn’t much at all so there should be money in the bank.
Addressing one in January just leaves two to be done next summer and that would complete a title challenging squad in both league and Europe- hoping that we keep all the same personnel and ship out the deadwood.
The balance is nearly there and that’s when Arteta should be judged.

I think booing the team is a bit unfair but fans pay a high price for tickets.
There may be frustration that City are going thru a bad run and the fans see this as a great chance for Arsenal to win the league and dropping points in the last 2 games has resulted in the booing.
Long way to go yet and there will be plenty of twists and turns.

Needs to stop neglecting the most important part of the pitch and find us some players who a clinical in front of goal when it really matters not when we are 3 or 4 up

We do seem to have lost our way a bit this season. Injuries have not helped as they have meant we’ve not been able to play a set midfield and defence for a lot of our games. However this isn’t the real reason we’re not winning games that we should win. The lack of goals from open play is a serious issue , the causes have been obvious for a long time and should have been fixed in the close season , we have created a lot of chances that have simply been wasted by poor finishing. The left side has been an issue all season , Martinelli is struggling for confidence and Trossard is not good enough to start. Havertz has scored a few goals but not enough and Jesus is too wasteful and needs to be sold.
It’s going to be very difficult to bring in a recognised striker in the January window so we will be stuck with what we have until the season ends which I fear will be trophy less again. Why not give Martinelli a chance at centre forward for a few games , we have nothing to lose.

Martinelli is one of the players I’d offload, his finishing is poor, his crossing is worse & his decision making in the final third is truly dreadful.
He also couldn’t beat a 40 year old Ashley Cole one-on-one once against Everton & that’s pretty typical. 🤷🏻♂️
I had high hopes of him a few years ago but he’s actually gone backwards! He has pace & works hard for the team but it’s time to give up on him & buy a new left winger.
Of course we desperately need a striker as well but we’ve known that for years - I don’t see that person being Martinelli. 😐

I agree. We need an upgrade on the left wing. Think we can still get around £35M for him summer.
