No Rashford & Garnacho, no problem

So that's why he left them at home

posted 22 hours, 5 minutes ago

There will always be winners and losers with any managerial change.

Looks like Amad is a clear winner with this

And Garnacho a loser

As mentioned above. This current system takes away all his best attributes unfortunately... Good chance he'll be in Spain come next season...

He’s also only 20 years old and clearly has a long way to develop while also at looking like he’s trying, unlike Rashford who’s in his peak years and doesn’t seem to give a flying f-ck.

This. And in a few of the games under Rúben he has looked the only threat on our side. Any one of our knuckleheads who wants rid of Garnacho needs a good kicking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven’t seen anyone say they want rid of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They seem to think wanting then to improve on things they can and easily should improve on means selling them.

Far too early to conclude Garnacho is a loser or a bad fit.

There was a knucklehead last week who thinks he shouldn’t be near the first team.

Nacho Hojlund Amad

Probably our most dangerous front 3. Young, hungry and talented. Looking forward to seeing what our manager can do with them.

Get a proper LWB and I think one tweak in midfield and we’re pretty set I think. Imagine a 2018 Casemiro in with Ugarte and Bruno (or better but he’s really not high on my list to be replaced, maybe after next season).

Impressed with our defence tbh. Yoro has a bright future I think, De Ligt has done well and Martinez will hopefully get back to Butcher status this season.

Onana is still a lunatic, but he’s our lunatic. At least for now.

Exactly. We want him to understand that he still has a few things to lean, and for that he needs to be benched from to time to time. I’ve sais on this board when Amorim was hired ; he has three important challenges: to tame Bruno (he’s done it so far) to bench Garnacho to make him understand that this a team sports) and to get rid of Rashford.

We’ve got a big rebuilding job to do in the summer, necessitating four or five being brought in, minimum. That’s going to take hard cash, and we don’t have a lot of it.

Amorim needs system players, with the right physical, mental and technical abilities. *If* he doesn’t think Garnacho suits, then the lad will be up near the top of the list for the club to try to move on, because he’s one of our most valuable and saleable assets.

In the meantime, it’s pretty clear that Amorim is trying to work with Rashy and Nacho on their games, and trying to find how they can be useful in the system. They’ll adapt and find roles they can fill successfully, or they’ll fail to and be moved on.

Another thing is very clear: unlike previous managers, Amorim won’t be changing or adapting the system to suit the players at his current disposal. They’ll assimilate, or they’ll be binned off. Garnacho will learn to play at LWB or as a ten, or he’ll be gone.

This is one thing I personally don't like... I prefer managers to have more than one trick up their sleeve.

It also likely means post-Amorim, we will need another re-build as his players probably won't suit the next guy.

We’ve been accommodating Rashford for far too long.
