Although we were better against Boro, we have been generally dismal at set-pieces, and yesterday was more of the same. Rothwell is an improvement on previous takers, but we don't have players attacking the ball, or making diagonal runs to draw defenders.
Look at these Newcastle highlights and see how clever they are at corner kicks.

Now, I know we don't have Anthony Gordon, but a lot of their set pieces involve short passing and speed of thought. We have players who can do this in the Championship.
If we can vary our set pieces a little more, and add in a few short corner routines, it could produce results. Much better than lumping a hopeful ball into the box, to be gobbled up by grizzled, gargantuan defenders.

We might not be scoring too often from set pieces particularly corners, but we've improved immeasurably at defending them.
It wasn't that long ago we were in meltdown mode every time the opposition had a corner.
