Out of 10?
For me it’s a 7/10. 5 years on from when he first joined in December 2019. Took him a long while to get us going but ultimately rejuvenated the squad and broke some club records - most wins in a PL season, most goals in a PL season, etc.
On the flip side, we’ve lost 2 league titles from very winnable positions, and have underperformed when it comes to winning the domestic cups or EL / UCL. 1 FA Cup in 5 years is a poor return for an Arsenal manager.
I think when he eventually leaves it will be hard not to look back on his time her positively (provided he leaves us in decent shape). I do however have the feeling now more than ever that he will always be our nearly man. Almost able to get us over the line but never quite having enough skill or tactical nous to do it.
The way this season pans out will be a big statement for his overall legacy (as well as the next few seasons, assuming he stays which is the firm expectation).
What would you rate Arteta’s tenure

8/10 all things considered.
When I say all things, you have to appreciate how poor our squad had become and the direction we were going before he came in. Many far more experienced managers have gone into struggling major clubs, maybe won the odd trophy but not changed the direction the way Arteta and the management team have.
Are there flaws and glaring failures, yes I think he's really struggled to find a striker to fit his system and squad rotation has been a problem although despite that we've largely been in a better place injury wise than we had for at least a decade - I believe this is a combination of buying sensibly, the side having a different aura to Wenger's, and better protection from referees (under Wenger sides were allowed to butcher our players, no conspiracy, it was just different and a disgrace imo).
*By aura I mean how other teams/fans/pundits see the side, pundits were always going on about how all you needed to do to stop us was rough the side up a bit, things have thankfully changed in several ways since then.
I'm not too concerned about FA Cups or League Cups, they're fantastic to win but not a great measure of the direction the club is moving. Competing for the league and eventually Champions league should be the long term goal and we've invested that sort of cash into the squad.
We've slipped back this season after fantastic progress, I'll be concerned if we drift further away next season but for now Arteta has brought serious potential and the expectations that come with it back.

I think 7 out of 10 is fair given what he came into. We've been very close to getting over line. Can he get us over the line I'm not sure at the moment. He's going to get the rest of the season but if he doesn't win anything then the questions will get louder. The one thing I don't get is the argument around how much money he's spent I mean Chelsea have spent over billion in two years and only now are starting to not look like a shambles. Tottenham have spent around 400 million in the last two years and they are midtable.

Its just a good amount of money 28 players with fees for an a average of 24m gbp ontop of having your best players already at the club. You’ve not had to sell a key player either? It shows hes been heavily backed with an entire new costly squad, It should be factored in at the very least. So much so that the kroenke hates disappeared. Spurs fans still think levys a tight wad despite pumping in almost 400m on ange in less that 1 n a half years.

Arsenal spent lots of money before arteta came in and declined. I'm not sure why spending money is such a bad thing. Klopp spent 135m on Nunez and szobozlai, saw them in training, and thought eff this, I'm off. It's not an easy thing to get right.
He turned saka from a LB into one of the best wingers in the league. I remember redknapp got a lot of credit for doing that with Bale, but people are hesitant to do that with arteta for some reason. Not to mention he's generated nearly 120m from selling academy players alone.
Aubameyang, Ozil and Emi Martinez were perhaps his 3 best players when he took over and he had to let go of them all, for varying reasons. Nevertheless, challenged for the league in 2 consecutive years with what would have been the youngest squad to ever win it.
It's not all been perfect, no, but he's certainly done a great job.

By the end of the season Amorim, Postecogulu,Slot and Maresca could have won more than him as well as Ten Haag

8/10 so far. He has transitioned Arsenal from a team outside the top 4 into a title challenging one and he's won a cup already. Some of the lack of success is down to bad luck, some is ignorance or naivety. He should be given more time to see what he can do, especially as City could be facing a lull for a bit and they've been the main threat.

I think you're getting extremely carried away here. He's already won one trophy so the idea that Spurs are going to win 2 by the end of this season after 20 years of not winning anything is such a stretch. Not even Sandy has that sort of confidence.

Biggest criticism against Arteta for me is that he has neglected the development of our academy players in favour of short terms success which has yet to pay off

He's doing that this season, I think he didn't see many youth to use but he still should've used some for at least getting a better fee from them.
my main criticism is that we haven't recruited a lot of attacking players

If he did it in previous seasons then maybe we would have adapted better to our injury issues at the time. And this season we would have been far better off had the likes of MLS and especially Nwaneri had more first team exposure last season.
Should also point out that while MLS seems to have won Arteta’s trust, he seems far more reluctant to use an incredibly talented Nwaneri. Even now Nwaneri seems like that natural replacement while Saka is injured but we all know Arteta will try every possible option before using him there.
