It’s over isn’t it?

Listening to the game yesterday and even looking at the team line up - I just knew what the end result was going to be, even before a ball had been kicked.

The reason this was a must not lose game is because Wolves are now within 2 points of us and we look set to get nothing from the next 2 games. Infact given how we’re playing - I wouldn’t be confident of picking up more than perhaps 6 points for the remainder of the season

It must have occurred to Top yesterday how badly his last 2 decisions have backfired. Firstly the bizarre appointment of Cooper which has led to awful recruitment based on his recommendations (BDR, Ayew, Skipp). When he was rightly sacked with a 20% win ratio, the next decision was even worse

The moment RVN was linked with us I knew we’d appoint him. I even said it on here and the pundits were p1ssing themselves. How can a club in such a precarious position take such a huge gamble at such a pivotal moment? No approach for Moyes, straight to RVN

But that’s who Too is. A high stakes gambler. He’s been gambling ever since his father passed. He gambled we’d get top 4 and racked up a £90m loss even before any PSR breach. He then had to stop all transfer activity. He gambled on keeping Rodgers. He gambled with Smith.

Some gambles have paid off - the Maresca appointment (while he clearly had a squad much too good for the championship) worked. But the thing about gambling is - eventually, the house always wins

He’s played his last card - and yesterday tells us that it really is the end for the King Power groups aspirations at PL level. They aren’t going to recruit a back 4 in Jan. They’re stuck with a manager who already looks out of depth after the new manager bounce. They’ve reportedly got nothing to spend in Jan

It’s time for Top to sell up. If he does it in the summer we can take the next few years to rebuild again. But if he doesn’t - the alternative is going to be very painful

Yes, you’re schitt and will probably drop.

Say what you want about Dyche, but he knows how to grind for survival. You’re gonna be as wide open as we are at the back and about 10% as effective going forwards.

Your only chance is Pep keeps up this run with City

Dyche is the worst option available. He'll keep you up in a percatory like situation where every week the best you have to hope for is the odd 0-0.
Better to go down to your level and win most games while waiting to luck out on a better manager.
Wouldn't wish anyone Everton's strife, especially at Christmas.

Ruud has let it be known to fans on several occasions that during his interviews he was told money would be available.
So, 98, if you have heard differently and there is no money to spend, if poor performance and results persist, I could see the possibility of Ruud throwing the towel in.

Well Ruud would know more than me obviously. I’ve heard (grapevine and all that), that to comply with PSR for 24/25 it’s going to very tight once again but hey I’m not the clubs accountant….!

I hope you’re right because we will need a very big January to address the defensive issues and historically that’s not a great month for getting in good quality players. We need another Huth signing basically!
