It’s gonna take at least the end of this season to bed in the system and for the coach to understand who might work in which role and whom he wants going forwards, and at least 18 months for the squad rebuild to start to take shape.

It might get worse before it gets better. But it needs to happen.

I think and hope you’re right.

But there should be more players showing better ability to play his system. It’s alarming how that doesn’t seem to be the case with any of them at present.

Nothing strange or particularly surprising about where we are.

We’re trying to implement in a few months what most clubs have done over the last fifteen years.

It’s gonna take a good couple of seasons, at least.

Most of them haven’t played in a system like this (and I don’t just mean the formation) in their professional careers.

Those who don’t get it, or don’t fit it, will go, and we’ll rebuild.

We’ve played a lot of games since he’s come in, but that isn’t a good thing. He’s been forced to rotate more than he’d have liked, for sure; but also had next to no time on the training pitch.

I think we’ll see a measurable improvement once we have a few weeks with a game a week.
