How much patience will Amorim get?

Me personally - I’ve written off this season so am not in any way calling for his head. But the losses will keep coming and I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost another 10-15 games this season.

Will the club be as patient as us fans? Or is there a point where they may panic and pull the trigger?

I may have changed my mind. 😂

In theory we should still be one of the favourites as the competition is the weakest it's been in a while.

However we won't win it because we've got far too many recurring issues.

We have three main issues

1) our wing backs suck
2) our strikers are still learning the game, Ten Hag should have also gone for experience in the position you most need it
3) Our keeper doesn’t project confidence at set pieces
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Our players don't understand zonal marking, that's the main issue
5) We don't have a settled team, especially in defence
6) Our midfield lacks dynamism
7) When we concede our heads drop, a sign of defeatism and weak mentality
8) over rotation is playing a significant part as partnerships are not forming in key areas of the pitch
9) RA does not know his best XI
10) RA does not fully trust the players
11) we lack natural leaders
12) we lack clear communicators and organisers
13) we lack the required fitness to out run the opposition
----------------------------------------------------------------------
14) our goalkeeper would be better employed as one of those flappy inflatable air men things you see outside at show rooms than a goalkeeper

Yeh that's how I feel.

Is it straw clutching that I'm still looking forward to the european games with some positivity?!

Rangers winning at Old Trafford is absolutely nailed on to happen now. I have already started to mentally prepare myself.

It's United, they'll up their game. Like they did against Celtic in their LC final a couple of weeks ago.

It's fairly obvious the managers are no longer the problem.

Pretty sure INEOS know this too. As do the CEO and the rest of the board.

It's also evident that Amorim looks the best manager we've had in a long while - hopefully since Fergie.

We won't get relegated but the next 6 months will be painful to watch. Pretty sure INEOS know this as well as does the CEO and heirarchy as well.

He'll be given at least one full season which is the least he deserves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This isn't right though. The managers have never been THE problem. They have just been one of many problems.

ETH wasn't THE problem or even the main one but he was still a problem. He signed half a team of players who can't do the basics / stay fit or in some instances can't do either.

The players are a problem because they aren't good enough. The new operators are a problem because they can't make good decisions. The long term owners are a problem because they put us in huge debt and don't care about the club at all.

We've got more problems than you can shake a stick at basically. You can't pin it all on one person. It's been a collective effort.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't blame Ten Hag for the transfers. The bloke never wanted the responsibility anyway. It was lumped on him by the ineptitude of the bloke whose job it was. I do however think Ten Hag's style, approach and ability to communicate to players what he wanted, was seriously lacking, as was his man management.

I don't see that with Amorim. I perhaps could've worded it better and said, changing manager is no longer the solution.

I've asked you before, other than the decision not to sack Ten Hag in the summer, what else have INEOS done that has adversely affected performances on the pitch? Nothing imo - so let's give them time also. We are no longer in the Woodward/Murtough fanboy era.

The players clearly are the problem. Fck knows how we're going to resolve some of that. I agree, we won't be able to offload them like some think we can. We can however, make sure those whose contracts are expiring in the summer are ALL got rid off to free up the wage bill and make some purchases in key positions e.g. fullbacks and striker first and foremost.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's too much of a cop out. The fact he never wanted the responsibility is irrelevant to a certain extent. He did get the responsibility and he made some terrible decisions. There's no changing that fact. We all agree it should have been a DOF but we didn't have one.

ETH doesn't get a free pass I'm afraid. Some of these transfers have sadly got his finger print all over them.

But he still wasn't the main issue. We all know who that is and unfortunately they have faded into the background somewhat now and INEOS are now taking their heat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it a cop out? The responsibility was lumped on him... and guess what, he went with what he knew. Martinez, Antony, Martial. He was even desperate for De Jong.

That alone should scream to you the guy was limited by his knowledge of buying players but did the only thing he knew. Unless you're suggesting he went scouted the players himself? He didn't want the role, he even gave an interview saying as much in Spring 2023 intimating the club needed a proper DOF.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because he should have known Antony wasn't good enough for Coventry City let alone United.

He didn't play Amad either so it's not just transfer related.

Let's not change history now because the new guy has got off to a bad start. ETH left us in a mess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eth inherited a mess too. Amorim has done worse than Eth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most folk were excited after a couple of the windows under ETH.

Yes, recruitment is the issue, but there’s also 20 players there prior to any summer window who are the real issue. It’s 15 years of recruitment issues that take 5 years to fix.

I agree. You're absolutely fooked for the foreseeable future. Stadium falling apart, a squad full of overpaid cross. It's a long road back under INEOS and the Glazers. I'm surprised your fan base has been so accepting, are the Norwich scarves still being worn at utd games? If not why not?
