Hamstrung.....

The hamstring situation is killing us... It's no coincidence that it happend at celtic too.

See the below headlines...

If I was a player looking to come to the club I would stay well clear for this reason alone. It doesn't really signigy that we are looking after the players welfare. This could end someone like Micky for example

The demands are just too high, on the full backs and centre backs especially but we call know Ange won't change and it's his way.

Micky has had 3 strains
Odobert after no previous history has one then a reoccurrence
Udogie,
Richy,
Romero,
Davies

It's madness really.

Wasn't this thread done last season? Celtic had a ton of hamstring injuries in Ange's first season but got better as time went on. Definitely it's worrying it's still happening but I don't think it's cos of the high line.

Even if that's part of it, do we really want to go back to the low block? We saw under Conte it's sheit to watch and you can still lose games. Even with Kane up front

Ok but wouldn’t this dictate that it happens to our attackers as well?

Yet Son, BJ, Solanke and Deki haven’t had long spells on the sidelines.

Maybe because attackers generally sprint more in games anyway. Making run after run. So are more used that aspect of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So they should be injured more then? Not sure I get your point.

I'm more worried about the fact we are 12th and have been shlt for 12 months.

If you wanna add poor training, tactical naivety and stubbornness to the point we are losing games of football based on the managers principles to the mix then I can buy that too.

The bloke is a pub league manager ... Just sack him now and move on

I mean they are used to the sprint stop sprint again back and forth etc. so less prone to get the injury. Dunno just trying to make sense of it so scatter gun

Well the VDV and Romero injuries may have been avoided had they been integrated back into the team more slowly?

When does this actually happen though? When the best players are deemed fit they go straight into the line up and that’s for all clubs

I think it's the distance and Intensity that defenders have to run which puts them at major risk. Also the fact they are having to tackle, meaning they are stretching for the ball.

With the the halfway line ploy even from opposition goal kicks they are almost guaranteed to have to run back every time.

Absolutely not the low block, they were miserable times under Conte, Jose etc. hated watching us.

I'm frustrated watching us now but for different reasons...

I wish we'd only go with one full back pushing forward at once and also limit the time in games they do it, they just charge up the field no matter the game state.

This of course heightens the risk of injury, but the tiredness factor makes individuals prone to error when chasing back. I'm surprised instinct doesn't take over with the full backs especially with a a narrow lead in the last fine minutes.

It's wide players that sprint most - not so much difference defenders or attackers.

The game has changed a lot since Maldini's infamous 'if I have to tackle then I've already made a mistake' era.
