Should his contract be extended to 2026? (Or even beyond?)
He’s hardly world class and probably has a few stinkers in him yet but he’s at least graduated to ‘not all that bad’ as of late and in a time where we’re broke having a semi reliable CB tied down for a while at least solves one issue in the squad until the money hopefully arrives.
Yay or nay?
Harry Maguire

If you mean his Napoli contract then yes

Why not. Let’s give onana a 25 year iron clad contract whilst we are at it. Give Antony a pay rise too.

I don’t mind Maguire. He’s very good at certain aspects of defending and pretty decent on the ball. In a different era of our history he might have been more highly regarded as a player for us than he is/has been.

I’d be all for extending him for two seasons if he’d agree to a wage cut.
With De Ligt at CCB and Maguire there to rotate in, we’d have that position well covered for another 24mths.

Wasn’t expecting a response to that nonsense post but yeah wouldn’t be against maguire getting a new contract (at lower wages)

I’ve always liked Maguire, he just doesn’t work in a high line though.

It’s not a big issue with Amorim’s setup.
He played with 33 or 34 year-old Sebastián Coates at CCB with Sporting, who is basically the Uruguayan Harry Maguire, and they conceded 20 goals all season.

We have the option to extend Maguire's contract by a year which imo is enough.
Lindelof's contract expires so he can go.
It may be worthwhile extending Jonny Evan's contract by a couple of years which is also expiring. It would be the best cheap option and means we have 5 recognised CBs.

Coates is quality though. He just came to us too early in his career.
