Amorim won’t make it to next season

*This isn’t an Amorim out article - I said I don’t care if he loses every game as long as there are signs of improvement *

I’m just saying that the manner of the defeats are extremely alarming and no Manchester United manager can survive what I believe is to come which is many thrashings and being sucked into a relegation fight as I truly believe we’re one of the worst set up sides in the league.. Even this 2-0 should really have been 5 or more.

For his own good he should have waited until the end of the season to join us and now he’s probably going to have a big dent in his reputation when he should have stayed at Sporting for a bit longer.

Am I wrong?

In terms of results and performances, the next six months will tell us next to nothing, Robb.

“Or will the owners end up bringing in a manager who can work with what we have for more immediate improvements.”

That’s literally the worst possible thing that could happen.

I think you’re being very naive if you think 6 months of continuous losses will lead to anything but a sacking

I genuinely don't believe we'll be in any relegation scrap. As long as that's the case and we know there's little in the league we're playing for, what reason is there to sack him until he builds his own team?

We won’t be relegated, and I hope to god that Ratcliffe isn’t dumb enough to abort yet another project under any other circumstances.

It really is all, obviously, to late now. This mess is going to take at least 5 seasons to rectify - and that '5 year rectification' issue is the same one that has been ongoing since 2013. A wasted era, and it's not as if it is part of any half-sensible business plan.

Been ranting about the stupidity of the policy of continually blaming the head coach/manager (whatever the chosen label being used is) for the average to piss-poor performances of the post-SAF 'era', when the problem hasn't really been them, it's been the signing (and keeping) of garbage players. Players from both the academy - which hasn't produced a true United quality player for over three decades now by the way) and from league systems that just are not good 'apprenticeships' for the rigours of an EPL season.

It's easy for anyone to list 40+ regular starters over the past 12 seasons that were just not up to it - and so obviously not up to it despite the hype surrounding them. Hype that was often generated from so-called 'fans', which makes it difficult for me personally because I have always been a SUPPORTER of the CLUB (a football club called Manchester United Football Club) and that means I will only SUPPORT parts of that club that contribute to the progress, and pro-active well-being of that club. I'm not just going going to pretend that by putting on a red shirt that a player automatically deserves my adherence to the hyperbole surrounding them (or their over-hyped "potential" - another over used and mis-understood concept). Not contributing then be honest enough to fvck off

So even though Manchester United PLC is not something I am concerned about, it is part of the problem. Although, I'm aware it doesn't necessarily have to be that way, running a successful business and running a successful sports club does have similar and transferable skills, but they (MUFC) are employing people in decision making roles that are just not up to running/directing/managing a football club.

There is very little at the club at the moment, and over the past 12 seasons, that fits the needed criterion of being a good EPL player let alone a good MUFC player. Too often in that time the truly good ones have been reduced to being observers of a disjointed collection of egotistical charlatans, shamble-merchants and journeymen.

Blame the people that selected the transfers in over the past 20 years (and some of the more ridiculous transfers out).

Absolutely this.

The good become infected by the bad. The culture within the dressing room is something Amorim fundamentally has to change.

One of the challenges for every incoming manager has been that it's a mish mash of the previous managers before him. Imagine managing at a top club having to deal with a squad with largely ineffective players piled on top of each other over 10 years.

Of course it's a possibility but it would be a decision that would eclipse everything previously made at the club in terms of stupidity. Not only that and more to the point I don't think ineos could afford another managerial sacking

I know the results haven't been great but, in general, I don't think we've been walked through quite like we were previously. Once we get the right profile in for the wing back positions I'm hoping that those in the other positions will have been well versed in what they need to do. We do seem to be OK getting the ball out wide it's just that we have no threat there.

As for the present I really wouldn't be averse to shopping in the lower leagues for an forward forward that fits the profile we want. Someone that'd jump at the chance of playing for United and give it 100%. Same goes for the wing back position too if we can get them.

For the time being though I think at least one of the wing back positions should be occupied by an attacking player although I could understand a more defensive mindset at Anfield, of course.

Between sacking ETH, to hiring Amorim, to sacking him, would cost the club £30-£35m.

Would be some achievement all within 6 months.

Doesn't bear thinking about. I have to believe we wouldn't be so stupid.

But if we do sack him, I think next time we should go down the player manager route. I nominate Maguire.
