There are three talking points at the moment that I can not get my head around. I hope someone can enlighten me.
Firstly, Farke will not bring in any strikers unless we can offload a striker who we no longer need. Well, why not? Is there some rule that says 'once you name your squad, you're stuck with them'? If Gelhardt and Bamford are not good enough, get someone who is. Yes, we have to accept a financial loss in wages, but that would surely be outweighed by bringing in a striker who can actually put the ball in the net from time to time.
Secondly, we are under significant Profit and Sustainability restraint, so we can't afford to spend much in this window. This despite the fact that we pretty much wiped out our debt in the summer transfer window and we sold Archie within the 2023-2024 year. It is often mentioned that we made the most money out of transfers of any club in Europe last season, so why can we not spend some of it on players? Meanwhile, across the Pennines, Schum are preparing to bid 80 million for Djokaeres, even though their level of debt would make Enron look like a model of fiscal responsibility.
Finally, the Jack Harrison situation. So what, if he returns to us? Again, we have to pay his wages, some of which may be offset by a penalty fee from Everton for his early return, but no-one wants him anywhere near the squad and he has made his feelings about Leeds abundantly clear. Honestly, why doesn't Farke just do what Bielsa did, name his squad, and the ones who don't fit in just train on their own? That would get them on the phone to their agents quickly enough.
There, got that off my chest. Happy New Year to all our posters and especially to Earl for his terrific MDT's. MOT.

1. When has Farke said they are not good enough. Clearly believes Piroe, Joseph and Bamford are good enough.
2. Debt level is not part of the PnS calculation. I doubt we are anywhere near being in breach though, but money spent this window will reduce our budget for the next three years when we will almost certainly need it more.
3. Farke and the players may want him in the squad. Or Farke may make him train on his own, he dealt with Gnonto at the time. Or Harrison may stay at Everton. Or maybe go somewhere else. But early to get exasperated about the handling of the situation given that nothings happened.

Footballers are professionals. If Harrison comes back and decides he still wants to play for us then I won’t have an issue with that. As long as he puts a shift in.
Farke will play his best 11. If Harrison is in that 11 then he gets my support.

Whether Farke says they are good enough, we all know that Bamford is not good enough, while the jury's out on Joseph. Looking at how Burnley seem to score from relatively few chances (they've just beaten Blackburn) I think it's clear we need to buy a striker for the second half of the season. Let's stop p!ssing about and offload Paddy.

Your using Burnley as an example why we need a striker.
Not one of their strikers have scored more than two goals all season. You literally couldnt have picked a worst example.
Its embarrassing, fooking use google, its all there. Why do people just constantly say stupid stuff is beyond me.

The difference with Burnley, LIW, is that they know how to defend. Once they score, they close up shop, and that’s it. 9 goals conceded in 26 games, doesn’t matter how many you score, does it?

Where has Harrison said anything about his Leeds feelings? His mum might of said something but can’t recall Jack saying anything. Always gave 100% in a Leeds shirt. Like every other player he’s chosen to keep his maximum wages by using a loan clause that Marathe was stupid enough to give him. Players want to play in the Premier League.
